Rory Taggert - Wow

Ok so Rory Taggert walked past me in the shops yesterday and when I say the kid is HUGE I mean HUGE.

He is a monster, I actually never realised this, and it was the first time seeing him. Has he be living in the gym all year?

Is he going to play Mid or is that the plan?

For those who havent seen him, he is just so built like a horse.

To be honest, I havent seen him play yet has any one??

Should Jamar be nervous?

That's the beauty of a long-term injury for a younger kid. Provided they are able to get over the initial injury, it allows them to build a frame for AFL quicker than say a kid who plays the majority of the season.

I simply salivate at the prospect of what Misson will be able to do with Hogan over 2 pre-seasons.

He had a fair bit of size when he came to the club and can really play, beautiful kick and will be like a new recruit for us this year. Looking forward to watching his progress.

He's a bit of a unit.

Is he still recovering from the injury or is he likely to get a full preseason in?

At the player sponsors' function he said he was aiming for day 1 preseason, so I'd assume so. He said he could probably have played in August if he wanted, but didn't want to risk an Evans-style retrigger.

*sigh*

Why do I have this nagging feeling that Caroline Wilson's next piece is going to be about AFL footballers on steroids?

Should Jamar be nervous?

cant imagine why

happily admit thats through to the keeper

Max Gawn wished Jamar a Happy Birthday on 1st August, even though his actual birthday is 9th August. Max also wondered if Jamar could represent Australia in the Olympic in equestrian. Then the OP suggested that Tags is built like a horse, and, ah...don't worry about it, was just trying to make a joke, but it didn't work...!!!

EFA

Taggert and Evans are two i have earmarked to surprise a lot of people this year.

Settle down fellaz, lets not go and over rate a player whose yet to play a senior game or even multiple Casey games yet.

He's actually played three at Casey but was only 100% in one of them and that was against Box Hill when he was close to BOG and kicked a couple of goals.

I sat next to him at a club function this year and he sounded keen to atone for his injury riddled year and to break into the Melbourne team at some stage in 2013.

Sorry to talk negatives but I will be impressed when the guy gets on the track on a regular basis.

Tapscott looks good but has been plagued by injury and when he has made it into the seniors has not looked better than a average player IMO.

It is a great start to have the body for it but lets see him in action with the big boys before we get too hot and bothered.

Im getting like you Old :) lol

Does she write for the "West Australian"?

I am sure most here would be extraordinarily happy to be totally surprised by these two.

Bring it on.

Will too. From now until March I can do whatever I want until I get run over by that reality bus.

This thread is complete rubbish.

I saw Taggert at training on Monday and was a bit disappointed with his size.

I guess some people are just easily impressed...

Has anyone in the thread rated him at all? The only thing being discussed is his size. Not talent or skill.

No one in this thread has stated that he is going to be a super start. In fact the only thing said is 'He is huge' and others are 'looking forward to his progress'

Sorry to ask the bleeding obvious but are you sure it was actually him? How do you know? was he wearing a name tag? We have another poster saying he was at training and was underwhelmed by his size - I'm confused ?

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.
