What does Mitch Morton's improvement say?

I suspect it says a lot about how Sydney develop players. Of real interest to me was Morton's little interview where he said that his teammates did't trust him. I seem to recal the same being said of Cale.

It probably means that some players take much longer than others to realise they have to work hard to succeed,even if it is only briefly. Sydney don't give games away to players, Morton kicked 70 odd goals in the reserves, as stated it took a lot of time for him to get the trust of the players. But lets also be clear, Morton came into the side when McGlynn got injured, but he had form behind him, and to his credit was not a weakness in the games that he played.

Its all about making the most of your opportunities, and he has done that.

I'm sure Ted and other Carlton players and supporters remember 1970 rather fondly. Just like Morton, his teammates and Swans supporters will in 40 years from now.

People saying that he "made the most of it" are missing the point of what others are saying.

Question: Did anyone here watch any of Morton's games recently and honestly think to themselves "wow, he wouldn't have done [insert something he did here] at W.C. or Richmond" or anything along these lines?

I'm shocked that people don't really see this for what it was; a player being in the right place at the right time. He played alright because, well, he's an alright player.

You are not giving him credit for doing those same things during a finals series, where the pressure ramps up each week...his contributions remained dam solid.
