you obviously dont understand what a formula can constitute.

Your so called indefinable qualites are exaclty that DEFINABLE. They can be introduced as variables.

Its EXACTLY what a formula does.. It computes anynumber of inputs according to a guideline.

If you dont get that....stop !!

FFS.... How are you still not getting this?? Sure, there will be a formula, but there are things that are outside of that which will be discussed by the committee.

I don't know how much longer I can explain this to something who thinks indefinable things are definable and are also variables.

They will definitely have all the variables listed and weighted to come up with a consistent approach to FA compensation exactly like the MRP has done when it comes to penalties....

(medic !!!! I shot myself in the foot)

Whatever happened to Tex? He started this mess :-)

I think his OP was found inside a scrapbook surrounded with pictures of celebrities with their eyes cut out, and drawings of people with knives in their heads.

Rivers (F/A) + Gysberts, for Geelongs 1st Rnd pick (16ish) + Chappy (1+1 $$$ front ended contract)... Experience for Experience + CULTURE exchange.

Why on earth would Chapman want to spend the last year or two of his career at the worst team in Victoria. A player that has won 3 flags, a player that lives to play finals, yet he'll go to a bottom 4 team to see his career out ? This isn't like Luke Power, or junior who are on the scrap heap and have been thrown a lifeline. This is a player that wants to win another flag.

For God sake man. Start using your brain.

I have watched a bit of Chapman this year and he's not a patch on the player he was, he still tries to do the things he used to do but just can't. I don't think he would add much value to us at the moment.

So ? I don't want him either. But it has nothing to do with the point I was making.

I understand that I was merely making an observation on Chapman; perhaps I shouldn't have responded to your post.

Tex is speaking from the heart fellas.

From what I've heard i.e. Melbourne's slackness in the Gym this year to this ridiculous hit the boundary game style Neeld is indeed a huge worry. Jurrah leaving the club is an absolute disaster not only on field but also from a membership point of view. Jurrah's huge coupe for PA. Moloney has been F ed up by Neeld big time. From 2011 to get 19 brownlow votes to see him not be able to play his own game with freedom is an absolute shocker .

Players are under the wing of no more than a suburban coach and a good one at that. Melbourne have wasted another 5 years with the Neeld appointment. Malthouse or Lyon were what we "neelded"

At last, somebody said it. Chappy is going nowhere!! He will have 1 or possibly 2 more years there and bow out the way he should, as an absolute champion of the Geelong footy club. MFC will not even bother thinking about him.

Did you see what just took place on the Weekend re Geelong. They folded like a Japanese Origami.

They are after youth, (Caddy Gysberts others, & a replacement Key Tall back.) They don't want to bottom out, & they will try to fast track they're re-ignition.

It is Very likely they won't offer chappy much at all, especially now the Graffiti is so Bold on the wall.

chappy will find much more beneficial offers away from the Cats, Especially from sides who need an injection of good Ol fashioned Pro attitude.

An aging Chappy may be struggling to fit into a top team like the Cats have been, but would be a Cultural godsend for a club in our position. The Experience, aggression & Positive attitudes he would bring to our club would be huge.

I think amongst the Classy youngsters we need, we will also pickup some like Chappy, thru FA, or thru late picks/trades.

If we don't get a Cloke, we'll need to spend some Salary cap. And not fall into the Trap of over paying youngsters who haven't earnt they're stripes.

Well all know why you believe Tex is "talking from the heart"... it almost like you are more than spiritually connected.

Chapman looked pretty well cooked to me watching last Saturday. He can no longer break free from a pack to be creative.

Should retire a legend.

And thats why we can get him.

Theres a big difference between them playing finals footy, & us playing H & A games. He'll be fine with us for 1YR +.

He's be above our mids & small forwards atmo.

No use to us if he cannot run and break lines.

Didn't we just get rid of a Moloney? Why get another one?

Lets be serious for a moment. Why would we want an ageing old star from Geelong or anywhere else, whose best football is behind them? Second matter Geelong is capable of and should be made to pay a decent price for Gysberts if they really want him otherwise what's in it for us? He's contracted and a few of us still think he could be a good player if he wants it, so suitors should put up or shut up. Chapman, Enright, Corey, Scarlett all done and dusted for mine. Vardy, Duncan,West or players of that calibre maybe. We should be trading up not down.

He is indeed, a 12 month to 2 yr contract option, he would bring plenty.

It's not All about Just climbing the ladder instantly, & more kids won't help here, but Chappies grunt & attitude would be a Tonic to the whole club & would help get in the mood for Action.

I think many here are truly underestimating the Culture thing & just how hard it is to change, & to get some attitude into the Group.

Chappy is one of the main instigators of the Winning change that swept the Cats into they're new dimension under Bomba.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
