We're now up to 15 pages on an unconfirmed rumour which Neeld has apparently tried to quash.

How many pages will there be about a player who is actually delisted?

Oh, I've just started page 16.

Still waiting for a confirmation, or a New Dawn. whichever comes first.

By the Way, I think we're all hoping to change our clubs ways, & sometimes it takes some pain, to see what has really been going on before us, (last 10 Years). And then want to right it.

Absolutely. Many on here confuse negativity with reality.

If we lose our picks 11-12 when they didn't even play 10 games between them it will be the final chapter of "the old clueless" MFC.

Or maybe you confuse reality with negativity.

It did get a little bit sidetracked by tucker though.

Spot on. To commit to the sort of training loads the top teams (an wannabe top teams) apparently have to undertake takes, i would assume, compete buy in in order to push through the barriers. A player who doesn't get it or doesn't accept the vision is more likely to quit when the going gets really tough and not really put in the hard yards. Certainly that player is more likely not to take on board direction from coaching and fitness staff.

A little line that Neeldy spat out amongst it all, didnt get much fanfare from memory, but has stuck firmly in my mind and is what i'll take from this season..

He said: (roughly)

'What were doing in terms of training / training load right now, is about 40% of what we expect to be doing in 2014.'

Nice.

Or more to the point, what the f@ck was Bailey doing at training? Watching for improvement, or Demanding it??

Why were we only training half as much as the big boys?

On Gysberts,

he missed a chunk of the year with the jaw thing.. had an interupted pre-season from memory and like Blease, will benefit from a full one..

also, he has put on a heap of weight - much more than Morts and in a shorter span of time.. imo, of course.

..I still expect a lot from Gizzy..

Lets Hope, that it turns out strong for all our List, & either for Gys, to finally step up, Or Step Away. One or the other.

I would be most disappointed if Rivers was lost. He is definately required next year. Played well at both ends.

Try to do a deal.

Rivers (F/A) + Gysberts, for Geelongs 1st Rnd pick (16ish) + Chappy (1+1 $$$ front ended contract)... Experience for Experience + CULTURE exchange.

you cant include Rivers in any deals. FA works OUTSIDE of normal trading/dealing

can we get this clear for all :)

Posted

Correct. The only way we keep Rivers is to match or better any incoming deals.

He is one experienced player who did well under Neeld.

He is needed Melbourne.

'Culture exchange' or not, this is impossible - you cannot trade Unrestricted FAs.

EVER.

For any reason.

No!

The only thing I don't understand about free agency is if rivers wants out for Geelong but we then match the Geelong offer but rivers still wants out what happens then?

Pretty sure Geelong win. It is designed to move players.

We must convince Jared to stay.

Thats not what I'm saying Bub, Jared may want to help us. If a package with the Gys is worth it to the Cats.

I wonder if the Hawks are interested in Jared, or the Saints, Freo?

But Jared may still want to choose which club, that may be interested in him? He may look favorably on one particular Club?

We can match & hold a player who is an Restricted Free Agent by matching an offer for that player.

Not for an Unrestricted Free Agent. This player would be Free to go wherever he chooses.

I would like chapman, great player. I dont think we would get him just for Gysberts though. Ergghh I bet after all this Cook and Gysberts will both stay, become stars with a joint brownlow and we immortilise BP outside the MCG

Huh?

He can sign anywhere for anything.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
