Who should we pick up?

All these below are options and we can't or wont take them all but consideration for me is on good ball users, some talls and players with decent size no more skinny kids after seeing Sydney, Adelaide, Pies, Hawks and others show the advantages when it counts in finals

Andy Otten was very good for Adelaide yesterday ball use was what we need and targetting him is what Swans do by targetting a payer that is on the fringe but has good quality

Chris Knights another Crow I like who has proven himself at AFL level

Gumbleton - Bombers have to many talls and now they found the bone spurr as the cause of his back problems he has put games together

Ben Jacobs - shown some good signs in his time at Port and if he wants to go back to Victoria good option

Caddy - shown glimpses and has by all accounts a few clubs chasing him but what is he worth

Draft

Mids with potential body size and tanks Viney, Toumpas, O'Rourke, Wines

Forwards - MD trade one of our picks to get Hogan but if not Mason Shaw good young kid fro South Fremantle good size and can take a grab, kicked 5 today in Colts GF and continually ran to present leads,

Small Forwards - Dayle Garlett is highly spoken of but would not use a first round pick on him, have not seen Ben Kennedy or Tim Membrey but he will move up the order after today

Recycled Players

Tom Lee - good thrid tall option up forward, Mark Hutchings - finished 2nd to Kane Mitchell in the Sandover medal but uses the ball better

So with that would not mind

Otten, Knights, Jacobs, Toumpas, O'Rourke or Hogan MD, Membrey, Viney, Tom Lee and add another high profile recruit

Good post mate. I'd Add Luke Blackwell to that list

What about Wellingham?? he is a gun and a proven one, we can get him

Wellingham is not a gun, he is a decent player in a midfield surrounded by stars, put him in an average midfield and he becomes Chris Heffernan, Des Headland and Brent Prismall

Had a great game today when the Sharks made their charge in the third and Mitchell went quite while Griffen had the ball on a string it was Blackwell who stood up went in for the hard ball and stemmed the run to help the Tigers consolidate

disagree, when Melbourne has played Collingwood in the past when they didnt have Daisy Thomas and Dane Swan, he picked up something like 39 possies.

He would still be in Melbournes best players

IMO either Cloke, Tippett or Goddard at least one of is essential for the mighty Dees. If Neeld can't coax any of the three then we need the NBT. While Cloke didn't seem to have a massive year I feel his best is still ahead of him. The more Gun forwards, i.e., Clarke etc the more the mids will lift. Goddard would be a great general across the backs.

Could create exactly the same argument for the contrary re: Wellingham. First insticts are to go to Swann, Pendel, Beams. Without these guys Wellers may well stand up. He's be good for Melbourne.

If we can manage to get another 2nd round pick, I would love to pick up Anthony Tipungwuti as a small forward option.

Has speed, skill and goal sense and isn't rake thin. He reminds me a lot of Wonaeamirri.

Agree he is exactly what we need in a small forward. Screams Wonna imo, but seems more a 3rd rounder or a bit later. high second round picks around 30 will still be gold.

I watch Tipungwuti on Sunday at Etihad and boy is he another Byron Pickett. Kicks both feet, has pace, and is very crafty. I like him and would make a play for him at late 2 round using Moloney's compensation pick (assuming Moloney compensation is late 2nd round)

He is also a bit of a utility and can play half back flank, small forward or spurts on the ball. He has got the potential and lives in Melbourne so homesickness surely wouldn't be an issue you would hope. I love him already!

yeah, he looks better than Aussie and hopefully more reliable for Melbourne to stay onthe list

I would personally like Tippett more than Cloke, which is quite funny because at the start of the year i would have said Cloke any day.

Hayes is way too old, we arent going for a premiership in the next 2 years, id imagine finals is more realistic objective to get to.

Hayes just isnt a good enough investment.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
