awesome!!! 2 of the most important players for melbourne heading into the future :) GO DEES!!!

Brilliant.

Hopefully a lesson for anyone who read too much into the Jarman comments.

Great news though.

Nathan Jones has been immense this year, and the ones who stand up week in, week out when the team is getting thumped are worth their weight in gold.

Howe has been good this year, and if he had kicked straight it would have taken his season to another level. As I have said in the past, I am convinced he is not actually a bad kick, just has his confidence shot when lining up for goal at the moment, and hopefully it will come around.

Wow that actually is good news. I wonder how much Howe is on. On output ATM you'd give him around 250,000 but on the potential of becoming something great and stopping other clubs from poaching him you have wonder what we're paying him.

Good news, along with Clark, our best 2 players.

Jones deserves every cent, Howe's could be stock with incentives.

Im glad these two have resigned. With some exciting new players in the draft and trade week things will turn around.

Best news all year. I was shitscared re Jones.

I had absolutely no doubts that Jones would re-sign...he is MFC to the core.

F'n brilliant :)

All those media pumping for Howe to leave...... Shove it up your........

Jones has surprised me. Glad to be wrong :)

Great news.

Jones should win our B&F this year and Howe brings members through the gates.

I thought that they were both fantastic today. Really pleased that Howe finally made a set shot!

Thank Christ.

If either of these guys were to leave, we would have been dead in the water.

Hopefully Chunk is on a significant pay rise!

Heard this on the way to the game. Excellent news!

massive boost for the club

well done to all involved

But... but... Andrew Jarman said..!

Great news.

Both showed their value today also.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
