you knew things were struggling at 'ology when posters started answering their own posts

hard to define 'ology but certainly an element of the dysfunctional family and definitely more than a touch of the inbred

Would be great for ology to make a comeback. Used to post there alot some years ago but have kept reading the site with very few posts recently.

Ology and land are different viral strains. Prefered the former.

To you maybe it doesn't. But I think great debate stems from one individual challenging the beliefs of another, no matter how strongly acknowledged they are.

My dear Deers, feel free to challenge away. I don't bite. Anymore.

i'm tempted to challenge your tagline - that the leigh matthews comment is actually the most insanely idiotic thing you've ever heard from an intelligent man..

Let's not clog up a thread, but I'm happy to admit a penchant for a little hubris now and then.

I joined 'land and didn't read the rules.

Pretty soon I felt like I had been violated and shamed when I had a deletion for going a bit overboard on Morton or Bailey or some such champ.

I glanced over to 'ology after feeling deep resentment at the deletions ,warnings and heavy handed personal messages from guys who had been moderating for a long time.

When suspended for 3 months I looked and joined the ologists for a while but the numbers were so low it felt like reading a sh!teful blog.

Sometimes when you go out with some mates you feel like going to an intimate, quiet bar and sometime you want a crowded ,insane jungle.

FWIW (an acronym I learned here) I like the idea that there is a choice between a huge powerhouse like Demonland and a little nuthouse like ology .

We need plurality in this life.

The thing is-I love every one of you sick units whether you be an anal accountant from Vermont or a drug addled Aura-reader from Bangkok.

But I still want the right to talk absolute sh!te to all of you and for you to understand that it is only talk.

For that reason I will give some money to try to resurrect the the rusty Valiant in the yard that is "ology.

The reason for my love of all of you losers is that we have suffered much because of that which unites us

And one day all this too shall pass..

What a day that will be.

I like your style Biffen.

Pity we didn't see more of you at 'Ology.

RF, you weren't a bystander in many a stoush over there.

As they say, If yer gonna dish it out ,.........

HT and Nasher , as mods you 2 are fine, that other fella's a loose cannon tho'.

Can't recall saying I wasn't, all I said was I got sick of it. One of the biggest problems over on Ology was the number of posters that read things in to posts that simply weren't there, like that.

No offence to you, but the majority spent time answering questions that you never asked and quoting things you never said.

Too many read too much in to what you said.

well, matthews' comment was at the more extreme end of the absurdity spectrum

to be fair, when mitch got injured, leigh all but recanted and said he'd done all the MFC could have hoped for and more

back on topic, sort of, i will be at the bentleigh saturday night but not for the demonology meeting

Pies: 3 fan sites that I can think of

Blues: 2

Dons: 1

Hawks: 1

Tiges: 1

North: 0

Dogs: 0

North, Dogs fans have to resort to Bigfooty!

We don't want to be relegated to the second division of club fan sites.

As we rise up the ladder, our growing legions of fans will want choice. We must give it to them.

Demonology must come back.

Not sure if you are the real ted fidge etc..

Any time I see a good torp by anyone with short legs I think of Ted Fidge.

I really hope that a lack of response to this thread doesn't kill Ology for ever. I'd venture there would be hundreds (thousands?) of people out there who'd love to see it revived, but wouldn't necessary have the time, means or inclination to front up to a meeting.

Enough people have offered their resources to make it happen, just need Timmy boy to hand the keys over.

I'll volunteer time & a small amount of money, Buyt my experience isn't in IT, but building. I'm willing to help in any way I'm able. But won't be in Melbourne Saturday.

I think some enjoy the exclusivity of demonology born of an inability to sign up as a new member.

Especially around school holidays, as demonland has suffered somewhat.

Maybe you like having captive audience 'Hose hey', if 'ology was up & about, you'd have to double your workload. I doubt you have the tank to run 2 sites down.

FWIW RF , I missed your input when you shot through.

You could be prickly but we often had similar views (still do).

And Ted Fidge.

Pretty sure the toigs have 2 fan forums.

Punt rd End and Yellow & Black.

That's pretty unfair DC. Well known that certain posters on 'ology had either multiple accounts or multile personalties. Replying to oneself in these cases should acceptable!

Not unfair Diesel, the point really being that 'ology was starved of active posters, no doubt due to inability of new posters to sign up

Anyway, I did say it could be amusing, never said it wasn't acceptable, just an observation. YMMV

Tremendous in trying to regain Ology to former glory.Just got out of hospital therefore an absentee, however when required will contribute resources when they are required. Will have plentyof time available soon hopefully.

Hope the lobotomy went well!

In all seriousness, all the best for a speedy recovery.

I know it's something I shouldn't joke about, but couldn't resist having a gentle dig!

All meant in the best way possible - where would we be without the banter?

I don't even have the tank to run this site down, despite your hyperbole.

Not sure the audience is "captive" either, or that it's not captive on 'ology?

But I have always found 'ology a bit on the "odd" side, and not focused enough on the footy.

That's all I really care about in the end.

Why even bother???

I'm not sure what you mean?

NB. What sort of building are you in, dee-luded?

Not sure if I can make Saturday night.

I have met Tim and hope he is feeling better. I appreciate the work he put in to Ology.

I appreciate this site, and am paid up.

But like MFC, Ology just suckers me in.

My lasting memory of Demonology for some reason is Demon2 back in 2004 blasting another poster (can't remember their name) because they went to Wesley and wouldn't buy two memberships. I have absolutely no idea why I can even remember that.

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
