I'm not sugar coating anything - more like being fair minded - not venting

Are you suggesting I am not being fair minded?

Nothing could be fairer than examining his many years with the club and stating what the club thought of him - ie the B&F. You may of course continue to have a rose coloured rear view mirror if you wish but it's not reality.

oh well, better than grgic

Both of them fit in to the "almost was" category I reckon.

Btw I heard a story - and I don't know how much truth there is to it - that a big contributor to Grgic's absolute collapse in form was due to the absolute incessant, relentless hounding he received online, at matches and in public. I know footy players are meant to be "tough" but they shouldn't be expected to be completely immune to the human side of things. The way Grgic got treated by so-called supporters in his latter years was shameful, and I don't think the reception Cale Morton gets is much better.

agreed, i know i sound like one of these guys but i have changed. i have started a tradition of wearing the badges of much maligned players on my scarff. it started with watts and this year i have picked up cales (i did ask if they would sell me the one that had cales name but moloneys picture but they wouldnt. Unfortunately i had a bit of trouble picking up one for juice.

This deserves a thread of it's own. From a couple of snippets out of interviews, I have absolutely no doubt that Cale Morton is not only aware of the [censored] he cops from supporters, but it also impacts negatively on him. (Btw - not trying to point the finger at anyone, as I have said some unpleasant things at times about him)

TJ - Like many before him a huge waste of talent.

On his day he was so elite - His finest moment surely came in that 2003/2004? Semi - Final Versus Adelaide

40 points down at 1/4 time & he changed the game so dramatically with pin point passing & gut running.

15 points up at 3/4 time & sadly Trapper ran out of petrol & we lost.

Sums up his career really & The Dee's plight for a long time.

Despite all his short coming's he was definately one of my favourite Demons when on song.

Was as good a kick as I have every seen play at the MFC.

Well since Alan Johnson for passing, but Jakovich and Bennett have claims too for Distance and Accuracy.

Yep, remembered for a game he played well in for 2 qrs.

Have never seen a happier bloke in a post game interview after losing a Semi-final either.

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the
