Must have been 3rd. GWS heading back to Punt Rd end. Magner did a good job on the No. 1 P_ick.

Grimes was the first to shake hands with Scully, and then had a longish chat. I saw about five players in all talk at length to him, but I did not see Trenners go to him which is interesting since Jack T was the one who most often was wheeled out in Scully's defence last year to talk about what a quality fella he is and how we all hoped when his decision came 'at the end of the year' he would stick.

I did not think anyone showed disrespect to Junior. I even cheered when he ran down Jones in the first quarter. Sensational effort. And McLardy said at the prematch that he had told Junior he was welcome back any time he wanted and it was hoped he might come back in some coaching capacity.

A thread about Sully who left our club for a deal of a life time & when our footy dpt was in a mess!

Carrying about booing & how they booed... really cmon!

I also was very angry when I left but understood why, remember we are not the only club that lost a star/potential

Lets face it we beat an u19 team, lets not forget we are 1-10,

This is life - if you make a decision that nets your father a paying job (oldest player on an AFL list BTW), and raises questions about your integrity with your insistence on the fact that you have not left the club as you boarded a flight to 'check the facilities' as it were - you are going to be ridiculed.

He got booed. There were signs. There were kids with fake money.

So what?

He will be ridiculed for his actions for a few years yet and while I hope most of Demonland moves on, he deserves what he gets.

I think it was when he tried to lay a shepherd after giving off a handball. Magner gave him a solid bump and he was winded and doubled over for a while...

I watched the Sheedy presser after the game late last night and couldn't help thinking Junior felt a little uncomfortable as Sheedy spoke of Melbourne giving him the "sack" and Scully sacking Melbourne, regarding the jeers and cheers yesterday during the game.

I'm hoping those at the club will get him back in some capacity. He's Melbourne and belongs among those to help rebuild our great club to where it aspires to be. The past FD are gone.

Junior, do what you've got to do, then get back. And bring someone back with you....

Does he actually live with the other players at Breakfast point? Wouldn't think he'd fit in very well.

Junior KNOWS he is and will be welcome at anytime after his defection is over :)

Junior didn't defect, we gave him the boot. We are the villains in that story, and I for one would be happy to see him back in a coaching role when his time at GWS is done. If you saw the way the Melbourne boys reacted to him, he still has a lot of respect from them and it is a pity we threw him away when he still had so much to give.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
