Still not happy with the Red yolk on our jumpers.

Looks more Pinkish maroon, rather than the real blood red it should be.

Watched the first game(s) up on the Gold Coast and thought they looked perfect in the wet. Then when they ran out against Collingwood last week I thought they looked very pink, but then never noticed it again all night. Last season I noticed the pink the majority of the time. It is a mystery to me what's going on.

Yep, they definately had a pinkish hue against the pies last weekend, as they did last year.. it p!sses me off actually.

I have a theory on this -

I reckon the AFL wants that shade for us, because real blood doesnt show up on blood red or navy blue.. and the blood rule (and the chance of a contagious disease being spread) would be hard to control.

This would give us an advantage if the umps missed sending off our players, via the blood rule, that anyone else would get sent off for.

Probably Essendon and GCS in the same boat.. although, havent seen or heard them complaining about it. (Ess, not as much red as us?? Gcs, red is lighter in colour??)

I reckon the "pink" issue is to do with the contrast used on the TV cameras

I agree that of late our jumpers look a little maroon rather tomato sauce red, but i'm happy with it

When you see the jumpers up close and personal they are fantastic, my theory last year was under lights they turn pinkish, looked similar against the pies last week. I think they seem quite reflective under lights this then makes them look pink on tv especially on night games

This year:

It has definitely changed to a more red than pink colour.

Bloody hell! Tappy looks completely different in this years jumper.

And there it is. I was waiting for someone to make that joke. Congratulations, you win the major prize - a chipped coffee mug I bought at a garage sale three years ago. No deliveries. Pickup only.

i agree it looks different in different lights, why dont we just go to dark red like essendon, ive never once looked at there jumper and had to think what colours are they? im sick of every second game they look like there playing in womens round! if we had a FOJ sponsor more of the pink would be covered!!!!!!

I was trying to stay off this thread but cannot help myself.

I do not think Essendon have changed there red in my memory.

Why is it that that Sydney and Essendon have reds that do look pink under lights / Tv

and yet our reds do have pink tinges and have for some years.

Why cannot we get the red right?

We are accused of playing bruise free football so I guess the pink suits

But it really gets up my nose.

My father told me a long time ago " son at least look the part"

Why the hell do we constantly have jumpers that look pink and scarves that look Maroon.

Yes wyl I really hate it and from what I have seen i don't think the 2012 version is much better.

I sent it back as you probably know.

Where should we hold the ritual cremation mate?

Outside gate 2 or would the dome be more appropriate we have been burned there fairly often.

Having incinerated it we could spread the ashes through Yarra park.

I am open to suggestions what do you think?

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
