Changes for this week v Pies

One sequence epitomised Joel Mac in the 2nd game on Saturday.

Granted the conditions were greasy, but he dropped an absolute sitter, then fought like hell to get it back, and broke away with the footy, bombed it forward, and in the end I think it may have led to Sylvia's goal.

Problem is, he shouldn't have dropped the mark in the first place.

Joel McDonald plays well for 95% of the game but is prone for 5% of the game to have brainfades that cost us a goal or two. Tentative may not be the right word as his attack on the ball and man I think is good however he is definitely prone to being hesitant in his decision making at times.

I saw Adrian Anderson saying on 360 that we get some huge amount fo inclusions at half time if we want them. Did I hear that right?

That was right for last week (allowed up to 12). This week its 18 starters + 2 interchange + 2 subs. Then at half time you are allowed to swap in 4 new players.

So with this 4 new players at half time, surely the 2 subs are worthless. But it seems like the afl are just making it different for the sake of it.

My lineup would be.

Bartram - Frawley - Garland

MacDonald - McDonald - Grimes*

Nicho - Couch - Jones

Sylvia - Watts - Howe

Davey - Clark - Blease

R: Martin - Magner - Bate

I: Petterd - Tynan

S: Bail - Sellar

Swap: Green - Rivers - Moloney - Jamar

With that in mind we should see Watts deeper forward with Martin and Tom McDonald. Selection is becoming easy an fit player gets a game.

Just stated on SEN that Moloney, Clark and Grimes will all miss the Pies games due to injury. FFS!!!!!

I was annoyed I couldn't go to this game because of a wedding - but with our omissions and by the sounds of the team that the Pies will have in, we should get pumped.

Hope some youngsters get something out of it.

According to SEN, Clark pulled up with a sore knee. Not playing due to precautionary reasons. Beamer pulled up with general soreness. Trengove has a sore leg and is 1 week away, and Tappy has a sore hip and is also a week away. They also spoke about Jurrah, nothing to add here with what has already been said.

I get the feeling the Hawks game will be the full strength hit out before round one. This week will about maintaining structures, particulary defense and having a look at new and fringe players.

Isn't he also carrying some kind of injury or recovering from an op?

I wasn't actually sure myself so I thought I'd put it out there but you're right he was coming back from something, not in the injury list but he may still be unavailable.

I thought that Clark was being rested.

Yeah, this isn't a great start to the praccy games.

And according to Mark Neeld our coach he said in his presser that it was Mitch Clarks turn to have a rest - nothing about an injury.

So you believe what coaching staff say about injured players......

And do you believe what SEN have to say???

I know who I'd believe out of the two.

Sorry but I do not agree with you.

Coaching staff have a reason to play down injuries and there are volumes of their recorded lies.

The media has a bent to find the truth and show they are providing the audience with the actual situation.

past records would be firmly in the "media's" favour.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
