Wear it with pride people!! I love nothing more then seeing the older supporters with the old merchindice on I like the old stuff better then the new stuff! I must admit tho even at my ripe old age of 27 I kinda would feel weird running into trenners while wearing he's number haha

My mates and I have a rule: Once you are older than the eldest player on the field, no football jumpers to be worn and especially one with a number.

I wear the Melbourne Jacket that the coaches wear.

I'm 31(How old's Greeny)? and also wear the jacket but I wore the jumper in the designated 'Wear you jumper day'instigated by Jimmy.

Yokozuna has it correct.

I wear MFC gear but jumpers on old guys look stupid.

I do agree though I like a lot of the older gear more than some of the later stuff.

Must be bright red and Blue.

No Maroons or pinks thank you

Only Brad Green stands between me and ignoring this rule.

Whatever you do don't get a young player with a high number due to the obsession with changing their numbers. Where will the next Shaun Rehn 50's and proud player come from?

I think jumpers at any age are fine, but numbers look bad on anyone over the age of 15

I've had number 40 on my back for a good 6 seasons now, I'll keep sticking with that - though it's becoming increasingly more popular in the crowd nowadays

Junior even laughed at me one year after seeing me wear it

My friend got laughed at by Danny Hughes for having Bate's number. She's still got her neck in front in that argument.

I have No. 2 (Jonesy) on my 2011 guernsey and No. 9 (Neita) on my one before that. Still thinking about getting 13 on my old LG long sleeved guernsey, just for the memory.

i feel jumpers are fine at any age, unless you look like a condom full of porridge in it.

i had 15 last year, but i think ill get 11 this year - not for mitch, but for the great man Jim...

16

I too got the #16 on the back of my new guernsey last season, the week prior to Grimes being injured against the Crows.

I'm a big fan of Jack and the way he plays.

I'm surprised we don't see more #16's around.

My son has the #6 after we met Bater at the Intra-Club match in 2010. He gave my son a high 5 and he's loved Bater ever since. It was hard to advise him that Bater wasn't playing most of last season cos he was 'sick'... Hoping that both Grimes and Bater have much more sucessful seasons ahead.

Bought my one and only jumper during the "Merger" nonsense fearing the worst. I'm now a senior citizen( member for 39 consecutive years ) but the "Tooheys" comes out of mothballs on "Jumper Day" as requested by Jimmy. Sure i feel a bit self concious but i also feel entitled !

Sometimes I think that this is whats wrong with many of our supporters .

Far too conservative.

I love seeing our jumper being worn with pride no matter whos wearing it .

You will love this. I wanted a training jumper and have a tendency to buy the horrible pre season jumpers. I could not go past the magic 2011 jumper of the great 29. Before you all go silly i also bought Byron Picketts heritage round jumper. That one is a classic.

Absolutely correct.

If I haven't got my jumper on I'll have my footy nicks on.

Loud and proud.

I have the old long sleeve navy blue one with Drake also. Mine has No. 8 (Graeme Yeates).

i had a 1994 tooheys new long sleeve jumper, with collar and red cuffs.....with number 5 on the back. i dont know where it is now, but it would be far too small anyway (i was 11).

BUT

i would looooooove one like that to wear now. long sleeves, collar.....awesome.

I'd steer away from #5, unless you want a jumper number that doesn't appear on the park in 2012. Neeld not a fan ATM.

What's this based on..?

Funny how you rarely see the old long sleeve worn by players any more. My old long sleeve LG jumper had 33 on it, and from memory, the Wizard wore the sleeves quite a bit!

I am not being conservative, just something I believe in.

And to say "that is the problem with our supporters", what a load of rubbish. My mates I am talking about dont even support melbourne, so i guess you can call all teams supporters conservative.

I am all for people wearing jumpers, just thought I would add my opinion.

The fact I am a member, go to the football and wear our colours should be good enough!

It is enough and you have my vote!

He and Yze both! I wonder what happened to the long sleeve? Climate change?

I forgot to say my first number was 26 for Luke Williams. And I think I was the only one at the time.

:)

Remember when Yze wore the 3/4 length sleeves? I was right into that but then the AFL banned it. Shame.

Yet it's all the rage in the international rules series.........

I'm sure you'd get away with it, if you had a bit of strategic taping

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

Some veteran Demonland Trackwatchers ventured down to Gosch's Paddock to bring you the following observations from another Preseason Training Session. WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

A couple of intrepid Demonland Trackwatchers headed down to Gosch's Paddock for the midweek Preseason Training Session to bring you the following observations. Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
