Karma hits GWS

I honestly very very rarely wish injury on any player, but the Dive Bomber ripping his hamstring whilst taking a dive was karma.

But should a certain lying mercenary whose name starts with $, with a fat dad, have ongoing knee problems I wouldn't shed a tear.

I think it would be great

No teardrops from me in fact if it happened in a game in victoria i think there would be a huge roar go around the ground. It is not as if he cannot afford private health insurance!!

GWS will be judged and held responsible for taking on high profile, but very fragile kids, who have bit of potential. This will not get them even mid term success, but will ensure criticism mounts towards their senior decision makers. That is Karma!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope they get a huge dose of Karma as they are getting massive amounts of backing from Vlad and Beady eyes! Far too much IMO.

To attract bad Karma indicates that young Patton has done something to deserve bad Karma.Given that he hasn't played a game yet I doubt this is the case. Hope you get well quickly kid and have a great career. As for the other one concerned, he is so far off my radar I honestly couldn't give a flying continental either way. Time to move on people.

the only injury i've ever applauded was when Gherig did his hamstring trying to run around Nathan Carroll in that elimination final in 06...and i [censored] myself laughing everytime i rewatch it

Have heard that Scully's knee soreness has flared again.

If that's the case then they're keeping it all very quite up there in the western parts of Sydney. My contacts at the Rooty RSL inform that not a single comic who's appeared there in the past month has made a comment or even tried cracking a joke about GWS. They're so off the radar out there ATM that it's not funny.

Context...the CLUB gws has attracted the smite of the karma faeries.. the injury to Patton is the intrument thereof.

Taking indirect pleasure at the injury to a young player is still taking pleasure at the injury to a young player. Claiming that "oh, I'm only laughing at the club" doesn't make it any better.

Correct.

I'll get my pleasure if GWS fails because of the poor selection of playing personnel or bad list management but I'll not be taking any enjoyment out of injuries to the kids they recently drafted.

I was only explaiing the context others were putting on this....but having said that I couldnt give a rats about GWS..not an iota.

Yes i do not care how they collapse or plummett from a great height, players or administration.

I never voted yes to the bastards, and i think the media was extremely foolish to pay $1.25 mill.....but we are stuck with it now.

This is the sleeper of the whole GWS issue and i can't understanmd how it doesn't get coverage.

Irrelevanacy in NSW, for the sake of TV ratings and extra matches in Victoria.

On TV NRL out-rated AFL nationally in 2011 by the key measures. This adventure will ultimately suck the AFL dry IMO.

That's waht Karma is - sadly thought for the greater game.

You are right and you are wrong.

NRL in 2008 (when this whole expansion was conceived) had 16 of the highest 25 rating sports broadcasts (excluding the Olympics). No-one goes to RL but they watch it in droves. Coupled with 60% of advertising revenue coming from NSW and Southern QLD you have the whole recipe neatly encapsulated.

So it's not Victorian games that they were seeking but extra games in NSW and Southern QLD where they could target advertising revenue for the NEXT TV rights deal.

Simple really.

And the AFL GF eclipsed the RL one also... that seems more like it.

Interesting to take a long term view as obviously the AFL have whereby Melbourne is on course to outrank Sydney as the largest city within 20-25 years . Brisbane/BrisVegas to get seriously big also. Sydney's influence over a lot of things will dwindle ( not before time )

The NRL is in trouble looking forward, but in all honesty it wont be because of GWS... the Dwarves will ride the coat-tails of whatever happens , they wont cause it.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
