Not sure if we are interested in re-drafting Aussie but I would like too see him in a Demon jumper again.

I think he has alot to offer with our new coaching group if he can stay injury free.

He was a favorite of mine, but have to say im dissapointed in Aussie.

After all the support we gave him, going up to the Tiwis on numerous occasions, being there for his Dads funeral, Josh Mahoneys trips up there with him, the medical support, and many chances we gave him to get his head and body right.

Subsequently........he doesnt turn up to the first day of training, doesn't visit his Doctor, makes it difficult to contact him.

Then he nominates for the draft!! ??

Very ordinary behavior and lack of respect for the club that tried to support him all the way.

Everyone nominates for the draft, it's a case of have to be in it to win it.

But in some regards I agree with you, in that I think we made the right call. However I'm not sure we can blame it all on Aussie, unless we know what he is really going through up there. For some people family is more important than AFL football and they can't compromise it.

I'd consider this the most plausible explanation to the situation.

Given the depth of the draft this year though, he would be worth another gamble with one of our picks unless something has been arranged otherwise as you've suggested.

If something else was arranged then I would be disappointed in him as it would indicate his walkout may have been pre-meditated.

Is it possible to delist a player and then re-draft them in the same year? would it count as one of the 3 compulsory list turn overs for the year?

Aussie at the end of the day is a grown man who has been presented with numerous opportunities albeit with a few major setbacks on the way but when it came to show some faith and repay the club he was found wanting. I don't want that type of player at Melbourne.

We did all right by him and good luck to him .

Hope he takes his next chance more seriously and stays off the turtle .

Honestly, the club has done everything they could have for Aussie. I love the guy, but he has never acted like a professional footballer and he's been given more chances than most to step up. If he was serious about being an AFL player he's had more than enough chances to show it. If another club wants to take him on, then good luck to him and to them, but I think he'll find life a lot harder than he did with us. I honestly hope that we don't take him back, even as a rookie. As I was once told by a review board at Uni, it's a privilege being here, and there are hundreds of people who want the opportunity if you don't. He's never shown us that he wants the opportunity we gave him, so let it go and give a chance to one of the multitude who would give their right leg for a chance.

Yes I think it's allowed because they have been removed from the list before having their position on it reinstated. If he does get drafted, I think it's more likely he'll be a rookie, in which case it's definitely allowed (see Michael Newton and Tom McNamara).

Correct. For example, the Saints have already signalled their intention to redraft Jason Blake with their final pick on Thursday.

His heart is not in it. I want to see all MFC players focused and determined to go next year. Aussie does not fit this catagory.

Plus, seeing him walk around Casey Fields with his cap on backwards gave me the shite's. Be professional or go away.

My opinion only.

I'd rather see us take a punt on someone like Couch. He seems determined to be on an AFL list, whereas Aussie seems like he couldn't care less. He consistently showed up at the beginning of preseason looking like he ate a waterbuffalo. As much as I loved when he was fit and firing, this indicated to me that he needs constant supervision in order to be able to remain in shape. This is not the attitude of an AFL footballer.

If he gets picked in the ND he's on the list for 2 years - I'd be amazed if anyone takes that risk. Rookie.
