Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

May I ask why you bothered with your first post if your unwilling to actually reveal what you know?

Only that it concerns me that that sort of thing goes on. Not unwilling, just cant post here.

Who's to say it does, considering anyone who might have such knowledge is totally unwilling to divulge it, but not unwilling enough to avoid bringing it up in the first place?

What was said has basically slandered many MFC players, with zero evidence or explanation.

It is a silly thing to mention / throw into the public domain without an explanation imo

OK, so we know who the leadership group were this year. We can break it down from there. Green, Moloney, Davey, Rivers, Grimes and Jones. Since he specifically mentions the leadership group as being the bullies, it has to be down to these. He has also said that while the initial post implies Jones is involved, this is not in fact the case. Grimes is unlikely to be the culprit as he is one of the younger players himself. Now we have four. If we're talking about muscling up and fitness, then Davey is out of the equation also, but this is more speculative.

I'm wondering if Moloney is not the target here. He leads a yearly boxing trip for the young players, so there is definitely an element of "beating up" to him. He is a hulk-like individual, hence the muscling up angle. There was an incident early in the year in which he got stuck into Davis for am infraction on the training track during a drill, although I don't think anyone knows the details of exactly what happened or what was said.

Am I getting close WWS?

An Idiot abroad- GOLD! Karl Pilkington is my idol he has the most twisted view on everything, he is a comic genius without meaning it.

Just watched Series 2 Episode 6 - it was on in the UK recently so .....................................

A brilliant episode and you will NEVER view Karl in the same way again . Can't give away any clues why .

There really is something not right about that number 31....Jesse Pinkman in BB season 4 looks very like the last guy who wore 31 after he takes a haircut!!!

Well deduced.

Well WWS?

PS. Can the people droning on about TV shows do so elsewhere?

SPOILER ALERT: This Forum has a General Discussion Board.

I dont post stuff like this normally, I usually know better, and no Moloney is not a target,....(Id forgotten about that, but good point) Nor is any individual as I don't have that information.....I am merely talking about bullying to younger players a little like what some of you are trying to do to my post. Maybe its just a bloke thing??.... Maybe its not even a real bad thing?? .... Young players come into a club and are obviously set standards they must adhere too and are then informed by more seasoned players how to go about this. What I was concerned about was the way that is translated and if it is actually a problem, hence my question to the coach and perhaps someone else may say if they heard anything similar??.....What I will say that it came from a fitness coach (not the club) of one of the younger players....Its nothing new, been going on for quite a while. But you know, maybe when you hear something like that its good to put it onto a forum.

I think that behaviour is standard.

I'm told by a bloke at work who is good friends with Melksham, that Mark McVeigh is a complete [censored] and all the young players hate him, because from day dot he comes out and takes any opportunity to smash them when they're not looking on the training track. Really hurt them for no particular reason.

He's a proper ****.

But the net result is that the kids get tougher and understand they're playing a man's game. It sets the tone from the very start.

I don't hold Essendon's leadership methods up as a paragon of best practice, but I think that it would be a common theme amongst all clubs to have certain players dishing out that treatment.

Exactly Lutz...well put....thats what I thought. All I was trying to say really, because earlier in the year people were saying perhaps all is not well within the group and maybe this sort of thing was one reason why.....

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,
