The Brendan Fevola Thread

So I don't believe what footy people say at times like this.

Running footy clubs, or competing with other business people. It seems the same to me. You don't want your opponent to know what your about to do, prior to when your ready for them.

Edit: JCB didn't think we'd get Clark, and wanted us covered for tall forwards.

But it does not mean the Club has or needs to lie. Why would MFC be playing poker over an unloved train wreck in Fevola?

If it wanted to, MFC has been in the box seat to get Fev. Its had all this year. It has not done so. In fact its made a number of statements to suggest its been against Fevola all along at Casey.

While you may be skeptical about comments made in the public arena you dont need to cut your nose off....

BTW, Fevola is 191cm tall...not necessarily a tall forward. JCB will still be pushing for Fev next year

Well i sure don't....And if i was a sponsor i would be saying so.....Do you have any idea of the amount of times Carlscum had to cover for Fev over the years???

Things that didn't make it to the media vultures??

If only you knew.....

You do realise that this was when he thought he was invincible and that nothing like this would ever happen?

Most people end up stepping over that line before they are really taught a lesson and Fev is clearly

one of those people.

I was all for the giving the man another chance but now that we have landed Clark, I'm not really sure what to think.

I don't know why people are so scared of what could happen? If he is even seen out and having a drink, that would be the end. It's that simple. A club wouldn't allow him to get himself into a position to then make a mistake so there would be zero chance of him giving the MFC (or any club for that matter) a bad name. It would be in the contract. Surely you realise this WYL?

He is standing on ice that is barely frozen.

Any chance the individual would take responsibility for that? The Club should not be responsible for it. And Fevola is a perpetual and serial problem. And its not a matter of it just being in his contract.

With or without Clark MFC, Fevola's AFL days are gone. Its a finite time and he spent most of his destroying opportunities on and off the ground.

Well thank goodness for this news, Fevola wont be back at Casey next year!

http://www.heraldsun...f-1226195011036

Great news.

Lucas Cook and Jack Fitzpatrick will finally get proper development as true Key Position Players, which is what we need to fast track their development.

Fevola is gone and it seems quite clear that Matthew Bate is trying to make a move to the midfield/wing next year. I also doubt Lynden Dunn will play as a key forward at VFL level, while Howe and Watts will definitely be in our best 18 if last season is to go by.

Also, with Tim Mohr drafted to GWS, i'm hoping to see Tom McDonald and Troy Davis take on the responsibility of taking the best opposition forwards.

Good news.

On a side note, our Key Position stocks are finally starting to look healthy!

Key forwards in the senior side: Clarke and Watts

Key forwards developing at Casey: Cook and Fitzpatrick

Key defenders in the senior side: Frawley, Garland and Rivers

Key defenders developing at Casey: McDonald and Davis

Full name Brendan Fevola Nickname(s) Fev, The Shag, Fevalenko Date of birth 20 January 1981 (age 30) Original team Dandenong Stingrays (TAC Cup) Draft #38, 1998 National Draft, Carlton Height/Weight 191cm / 100kg Position(s) Forward

Who else thinks we have to draft Brendan Fevola? He is exactly what our historically bland football club needs. Brings a bit of media presence and the worst seems behind him.

Proven bag kicker and will take a good defender each week. Chuck him full forward and Mitch Clark CHF! Brb premiership.....

oh here we go. You're looking for a reaction right?? There's quite a few people here who'll give quite a few reasons why this is the worst idea of the century. Have a look, its all laid out in another thread somewhere.

I'm personally one who doesnt mind the idea, although Melbourne now has their ears full of talls. And anyway, it would mean Fevola would play time at Casey, taking the place of Fitzpatrick and Cook again, and Mr Neeld won't like that.

If we were Top 8 yes, any team will benefit 40-50+ goals a year from this guy.

If he doesn't get drafted then ha ha

In many top 8 teams he could be the difference *any day,

We are not there at this stage . why we wont draft him.

Proven Game winner for 60K per year.......hard to lose.

No, because you'll get the "I can't believe nobody picked him up" for a little while. Then it will end. Thankfully.

Fair point. First time next year we kick a rubbish score.

And the nutters off the MFC Facebook page, they just can't get enough Fev.

I am wide awake...don't worry, and have worked with addicts....AFL 24/7 is not the place for Brendan....it almost killed him once....

You will not change my mind

In revisiting this thread I came across your post- and I have one question for you - you most surely be dreading the possibility of us taking Travis Tuck?

And to a late reply to R.R - when we got Clark I was extremely disappointed because I realized Fevola was out of the question, however I would bet my leftie against your righty that Clark will never be as successful as Fevola & sone of the best full forwards ever were Fevola's height or shorter,I cannot think of many over 195 cms tall- Salmon the only one and if Clark ends up as good I will be extremely delighted especially after the loot we paid out on him.To think he is our highest paid player by far is just an outright joke IMO.

But let the 2012 season show us who is the better judge- and I hope I'm wrong again.

Put them back in your Santa sack JCB. Your point is irrelevant. I dont care what Fevola has done in the past. He had no future in AFL. He was a one trick pony that had burnt his fuse out years ago even though you held out a candle.

In the modern game there are plenty of full/key forwards over 195cm and some who have been successful... Hawkins, Tippett, Lynch, Cloke, Watts, Franklin,Hall (194), Richardson.

    GAMEDAY: Rd 13 vs Collingwood

It's Game Day and the Demons are once again faced with a classic 8 point game against a traditional rival on King's Birthday at the MCG. A famous victory will see them reclaim a place in the Top 8 whereas a loss will be another blow for their finals credentials.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie
