Dunn's season was mixed between some good performances and others that weren't up to scratch so he spent some time going up and down between the Demons and the Scorpions.

Needs to do better to keep his AFL career on track.

Games MFC 2011  11 MFC Total  81 Goals MFC 2011  16 MFC Total 78

Games CSFC 2011 9  Goals CSFC 2011 18

I can't think of a player in my lifetime that I've had so much trouble supporting. Would accept any neutral trade for him and would strongly consider a downgrade in late round draft picks if it came to that. Would keep Bate ahead of Dunn.

Let's just hope that other clubs are as sucked in by his faux toughness as many Demonland members are.

List clogger, NQR or hirsuitly challenged..... take your pick.

I also would have written that^

Let's face it -- he came on the scene promising so much, yet has failed at any time to show any consistency whatsoever - he makes Col look good in that aspect !

Unless the secret tete a tete between Lynden and the new coach brings out some amazing hidden factors causing his lack of regular delivery, and factors that Mark knows he can, with Lynden's efforts fix, then bye bye Dunny.

why bother mono, surely Neeld has enough on his plate with about 20 other underachievers

his time is up

Going to have a hard time staying in the game at this rate. When on fire, he has the ability to offer alot to the side, but the fact that these instances are ever so rare and fleeting means that he has pretty well done his dash. There is many other players on our list that I would prefer our new coaching staff to concentrate on fixing.

I would keep dunn. He certainly needs to improve and become consistent. If he goes i can understand but if he could use his body a bit more and crash and bash when the ball hits the deck he would be very useful and his long kicking could be an asset. I dont think we could keep bate and dunn though.

Agree with all that. Even the keeping Bate bit. Even though I hate Bate too.

Dunn was great in the second half of last year. Let's face it, you'd trade half of our team on their 2011 performances. I'd keep Dunn over Bate any time. Dunn can be an asset. I can't say the same about Bate.

When Dunny had a very good second half to the 2010 season, I thought he had (belatedly) turned his career around. How wrong I was! In 2011 he reverted to his old self, with his form fluctuating between moderate and poor before he was dropped to the VFL around mid-season. After that he was unable to regain senior selection in a team that was itself, travelling poorly. Very frustrating, very disappointing, and quite possibly career ending for Dunny.

nice post

I think i first hated Dunn when he tried to tag boomer harvey and resorted to playing dirty

Then he grew that moe....

Kick him to the kerb!

I find it interesting that he hasn't been put on the trade table - at least some feelers to see if anybody's interested. Perhaps, it's just the mo.

I think the only Dees players who have been mentioned as possible trades are those who have put their hands up. Given that there's been nothing in the media about Dunny, it might be something as simple as he hasn't asked to be traded. Surely his name will be foated before the trade period is over.

I'm so disappointed in Dunn that I'd be prepared to trade him for a draft order downgrade just to be rid of him.

There has been a lot of comparison between him and Bate on this site for a few years. In my view, Dunn has greater physical attributes but less game nous than Bate. I'd rather the game nous. What I'm most disappointed about is that Dunn was given a chance to play every position on he field and didn't do enough to warrant perseverance in any of them whereas Bate wasn't given a chance to play anywhere but in the forward line until he was given a chance to play an onballer role at the end of the season.

Maybe they have scouted potential interest and there is none. He is a very good VFL player...with a bad mo!

Badly coached players both .Bailey failed these more experienced types by not developing them properly .

Now we have the technology and "we're on a Misson from God" .

I will be fascinated just what "role" Neeld has in mind for him.

He has been tried as a mid / tagger with mixed results: he has the strength and the tank, though I am unsure re the temperament.

Looking forward with interest - surely unless he delivers the unexpected, Lynden is entering his final tear. May be useful 'insurance' but that cannot be sustained.

Dunn > Bate

What a bump!

How did you ever find such an intriguing idea to give this thread life?

And I think at this point saying Dunn is better than Bate is like saying that getting kicked in the shin is better than in the nose; they are both painful and require some work to improve the state they are in.

I have a glimmer of hope for Bate in the midfield in 2012, but Dunn's place is even less clear. Can you have Jurrah, Howe, Petterd, Green, and Dunn in the same team with a resting ruckman and Clark in the forward line?

I don't think so.

Not sure why it piqued my interest. Something tells me he's not quite Dunn yet.

For sure he's not in your ideal forward set up as of today, but fortunes can shift quickly. Injuries can strike.

I think he'll get a chance or two under Neeld to see if he can coax something out of him Bailey couldn't.
