The Patrick Dangerfield Thread

I like the way he plays, but I would want them to do some major medical testing first. He's had an alarming number of concussions for such a young player and they are known to have a cumulative effect. He stands a very good chance of being forced into early retirement if a decent medical staff get their hands on him.

Daniel Bell #2 ?????

Certainly has a bad injury record at the G ! I have only seen him live twice, and didn't finish either game.

Daniel Bell #2 ?????

Precisely. Repeated blows to the head of that magnitude can lead to serious damage to the brain. The NFL have a research center dedicated to this issue, but in the AFl they don't really acknowledge the severity of the problem, despite their soft high contact rules. I maintain that Dangerfield is showing early signs of CTE which would explain why he is so easy to knock out. Personally, I think this should have been raised in the Trengove case earlier this year. The AFL need to step in and insist that he undergo extensive brainscans before allowing him to keep playing.

How fast was Dangerfield today in the Half Time Sprint?

Extremely dangerous and exciting, just needs to get more of the ball. (as do a few of our players, so maybe he would fit in well!)

In terms of a trade I heard on SEN a few months ago that Adelaide were very keen on Jamar.

I'm not sure of Martin as a tap ruckman at bounces, etc and Gawn needs at least another couple years to grow, so jamar is obviously vital to our centre line structure.

Who else on our list (besides trenners & tappy) are from Sth Aust?

Who says Gawn needs a couple of years, only the FD department will know this, Kreuzer played from age 18-19 so no reason Gawn cant from 20-21 or so, is huge and if he puts on 5kgs more will be even more impressive, even though he will need to be 115kg's at peak

He would be good as a 50/50 prospect with Martin, what happens in 2 years when all 3 deserve a game in our 23? somebody needs to go at some point imo, and Jamar has value now, Gawn and Martin will in 2 years, a decision needs to be made imo or we may lose one for very little

Also dont see a 28 yo ruckman in Adelaides rebuild tbh

Rivers, Jamar and McNamara and you could also include Jack Viney

Rory's a ripper, but how do you get him???

Dangerfield is a Bellarine lad, & I think would like to come home to Vic.

Pick 12 for Sloane or Dangerfield. Dunn. Maric could be included. Bate may persist with.

Both compo picks to get Gaff at end of 2012 or Pendlebury. He will also be a target at end of 2012.

Yep we owe them one for Thompson but I won't hold my breath at this stage. Also huge laugh's to those who think any other club would do us the favour of taking Bate, Dunn or Maric of us for anything better than a late 3rd round pick. Would you accept pick 12 and 2 or 3 borderline duds for Trengove or even Sylvia or Jones?

Well that's just silly -- we already have pick 12.

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
