So what time is the announcement?

Haven't been able to confirm this anywhere but have been told it will be at 12pm...

Edit- Fox Sports News have confirmed they will be crossing live to the presser at 12pm. SEN also broadcasting it live for those interested.

To be honest, I think Neeld may be almost better then getting MM.

- He has spent 4 years with MM, has been his right hand man and learnt everything he could.

- He is young and energetic, eager to prove himself and show Eddie that they should have chosen him over the fairytale - MM might be a little burnt out and old.

- He is ALOT cheaper then MM, which means we can spend ALOT more on our football department --> ask any serious football club, thats what wins you flags.

- Neeld also allows us to bring another senior person into the club and have some input, hopefully Neil Craig, which means we have the best of two clubs.

I just hope Neeld has the steel to change our culture and restore this club to where it belongs.

I think Viney has thicker skin than that.

Viney from the start has said he intended to return to his original role once a new coach was found.

He didn't even actually declare an interest in the permanent head coaching position - that was inferred by the media.

I will back Neeld alll the way!

As long as the club promises to every fan it will never once use!

The " untried coach","Give him time we are rebuilding" excuses.

We all understood the Bailey situation but its now time to, put up or shut up.

Dockers have come out and said they are demanding sucess from RL pretty much from the get go.

Weren't we saying at the start of the hunting we were going to do the same with a proven coach?

From what I hear, given his background in teaching and at Collingwood, he is great at communicating with players and getting the best from them. He seems to be big on team roles rather than individuals playing for themselves.

Going by this, I fully expect those who were low on confidence/form in 2011 to play better footy in 2012.

This mostly includes Davey, Green, Morton and to a lesser extent Jurrah.

With these 4 playing better footy we will win more games. No doubt about it.

Note sure about MM losing the fire. Still seems to want it although a year out might mellow him and change his outlook. Never know.

I'm also chanting to Lucifer we get a solid Senior to support him like Craig. Be shattered if we don't.

Your post is a good one though Davey.

Nice work

Well at least he knows it will be hard work and admits there is a lot to do. But said he has had a 15 year apprenticeship to get here and wouldnt have put himself through the process if he didnt think he was ready.

Sasd he wants melbourne to be the hardest team to play against. Anyway he spoke well and lets see what list changes he makes.

I loved him. He was very aggressive and bland with the media. If he didn't like a question he threw it back with disdain.

The one thing I love about Mick Malthouse was his ability (some would say lack of ability) with the media. He would stand up for his troops regardless of the scenario and if the question is asked he doesn't want he tells them where to go.

From what I got from meeting number 1 from Mark Neeld was extremely positive.

I'm falling in love

GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs West Coast

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well
