RUMOUR FILE

Featured Replies

I understand that Warnock has expressed a preference for the blues. I think that would be close to a straight swap. Very similar standard players. Both have dodgy kicking and decision making.

Getting O'failpin to Melbourne would be akin to asking Ben Holland to make a comeback; we'd probably get more value out of Ben.

Please let this only be a rumour started by some sadistic Carlton supporter paying us back for Brock. In fact I'd rather take Brock back.

Heard a rumour tonight from the guy 2 in front of me in the checkout queue at Belgrave Safeway, who told the checkout girl that he had heard from a cousin of an assistant coach at Melbourne that they were close to trading Brendon Goddard for Cale Morton and an early draft pick.

Said it was "win-win" because the Saints have salary cap issues and Goddard sees his future at the Dees now the window's closed at St Kilda. What d'you reckon... ?

ClarkyHeraldSun Dees could get Scully replament in 17 yo mini draft. Brad crouch is their man. Will cost one of two 1st rd compo picks. Dream result

Would cream me jocks over this deal, i would give both picks for Crouch

And who stole my avatar??

Lovely if it happens, but......there is no way in the world the Saints would ever do this deal.

I think he was taking the p155

Sounds like a pretty credible source.

What do I reckon ?

I reckon the checkout girl should involve herself in a trade to Coles, because prices there are going...down, down.

I can here the wheels ticking from princes park, here's where we can pay back the Dees for Brock & CJ.

C'mon Craigy, do your thing mate. Have the Crows got a spare tall forward or 2, & do they need a solid tall back?

I new I should have shopped @ Safeway today, instead of the lousy Indian run Coles I went to. When you ask them where the Weet Bix are, they show round the whole store before ending in the next aisle, and then wait for a Tip.

Goddard you say, No, not 2 comp picks! Morton + P12, or a comp pick next Year? Yes, I think so!

I didnt realise Belgrave Safeways was such a melbourne obsessed establishment. I was also in there earlier tonight but I herd no such rumours. I shall keep an my ear out in there from now on!!

You had to ask where the Weet Bix is in a Coles?

Either you made up the story because you don't like Indians, or you really aren't the sharpest tool in the shed.

No [censored] sherlock. I'm not too fussed about what they do.

I love trade week

When all is said and done, there will be more said than done

Why they extended it for two days totally escapes me\

Still it is great for those posters anxious to boost their post counts

Bring back zones and form fours I say

Bate to Western Bulldogs

Maric to North

Jordan Lisle to the Dees

mentioned here

Don't know much about Lisle other than all aussie u18 - anyone know much?

If Maric is going to North would entertain a straight swap for Campbell or Urquart.

Will be interesting to see what the cost is for Lisle. is he out of contract?

I don't mind this at face value, but from a list management perspective Maric is a delistable and we don't have many of those. If we did this deal it becomes doubly important to re-home Bate and/or Dunn or we'll find ourselves having to delist contracted players. It would also significantly reduce Joel Macdonald's chances of a new contract.

Would be a shame to part ways with Maric. Has obviously run/running out of chances, but he was looking pretty impressive in the NAB cup... Don't feel as though we have gotten the best out of him.

I'm trying to imagine Maric playing like Stokes or Christensen in the GF - and struggling.

We have gotten what he can produce. There is nothing more to see with regards to Maric he has had ample opportunity the best thing for him would be a trade.

Hopefully for his sake someone will pick him up.

Which is exactly the point at which you need to make the call, while he still has some currency. He is highly unlikely to become a superstar and is highly likely not part of our best 21 going forward.

We have sat on Bate for too long, would have got significantly more if we had acted sooner.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
