The Mitch Clark Thread

Seems highly positive but until monday and papers can be lodged it all is meaningless damn weekend "agreement"

Did Clark change his mind? Is this a prank?

Did Clark change his mind? Is this a prank?

Effing cruel for all involved if it is...

Footy is so stupid sometimes.

What the hell is happenning?!

Did Clark change his mind? Is this a prank?

Hope not and hope Clark is happy with the arrangement

You have forgotten how to spell and you are exclaiming questions, that is what is happening.

MFC twitter....i have no idea,

We have been pretty tight on this type of stuff, havnt leaked anything before it is 100% in ages, going the ultra professional look ect

Also just mentioned on HS website in tweet from one of the journo's as confirmed for pick 12.

Massive.

Massive.........

If true good to see we havent thrown in the towel or what are we chasing from Freo Pick 16 & a player or pick 16 & 20 giving us either 3 picks in first 32 or something to on trade for someone else in mind

Touché.

I must say I am a little taken aback by this. The Melbourne FC twitter feed has just announced he has agreed to a four year deal.

So the options are down to: hacking of our twitter feed, or the club actually landed a player they were going after.

Huge! Awesome get Dee's! Pick 12.

Sounds as though we keep comp picks too.

How do you do Freo??? Suck eggs you tight arses. He is worth more than Pick 16 & 20. Pick 12 suckers.

Of course Clark has agreed to it. If he doesn't want to play for the MFC he can nominate for the Draft or PS Draft. I have no knowledge whatsoever as to what changed his mind (other than the $$$$) but as long as he gives his all to the MFC, then I am absolutely ecstatic with this pick up. I watched his game in Rd 1's 2 pt loss to Freo, and prior to getting knocked out he was absolutely stellar. I said to my mate,"geez I'd love it if he played for the Dees', and whaddayaknow :) IMO, this is a really good get!

Massive news indeed. Freo would of told him they can't meet Brissie's demands and Brisbane would have told him that they weren't going to reduce their asking price.

Been tweeted he has agreed to a 4yr deal.

Get ready for this place to go into overdrive!!!

Geez, imagine how excited everyone would be if he was a good player.

As I said in another post. The Dee's will up the offer and give Mitch a headache to revise his decision over the weekend.

The Dee's gave him an offer too good too refuse.

WOW!

"Agreement has been reached tonight to trade Brisbane player Mitch Clarke to @melbournefc for selection 12 in the 2011 National Draft." - MFC twitter

PHuk i just read this somewhere else as well.....Go Demons....persistence.

Where are the Harrington / Prendergast knockers now?

Just goes to show that the vast majority have NFI when it comes to what the club is actually doing and they'd be better off putting faith in them and priaising their work rather than the constant negative drivel that gets spewed up here far too often!

Sad day for football. Money wins over family? Really?

Good for us... But who is to say he doesn't want to go home this time next year?

I dont think thats right. Moreso a realisation that he was no guarantee to get there.

Mark Robinson tweeted that he hopes we aren't paying him too much...

What does it matter when we had a $600k offer knocked back by a certain someone a few weeks ago.

Gotta pay someone.

I'm glad it is a 200cm athletic CHF/Ruck who has a great leap.

  • NON-MFC: Round 07

Round 7 gets underway in iconic fashion with the traditional ANZAC Day blockbuster. The high-flying Magpies will be looking to solidify their spot atop the ladder, while the Bombers are desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top eight. Later that evening, Fremantle will be out to redeem themselves after a disappointing loss to the Demons, facing a hungry Adelaide side with eyes firmly set on breaking into the top four. Saturday serves up a triple-header of footy action. The Lions will be looking to consolidate their Top 2 spot as they head to Marvel Stadium to clash with the Saints. Over in Adelaide, Port Adelaide will be strong favourites at home against a struggling North Melbourne. The day wraps up with a fiery encounter in Canberra, where the Giants and Bulldogs renew their bitter rivalry. Sunday’s schedule kicks off with the Suns aiming to bounce back from their shock defeat to Richmond, taking on the out of form Swans. Then the Blues will be out to claim a major scalp when they battle the Cats at the MCG. The round finishes with a less-than-thrilling affair between Hawthorn and West Coast at Marvel. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.

  • PREGAME: Richmond

The Dees are back at the MCG on Thursday for the annual blockbuster ANZAC Eve game against the Tigers. Can the Demons win back to back games for the first time since Rounds 17 & 18 last season? Who comes in and who goes out?

A undermanned Dees showed some heart and desperation to put the Fremantle Dockers to the sword as they claimed their first victory for the season winning by 10 points at the MCG.
