SEN just reported Lyon meeting with StK players...likely to leave Saints.

Maybe he's just telling them,

end of season boys go and have a break but FFS stay away from school girls & leave your cameras at home

Saints fans were destroying Lyon on the radio on Sunday, saying they are hoping to see him go.

1 flag, 26 spoons. 3 GF appearances in 2 years, came VERRRRRRRY close to winning 2 flags. Not sure what they want from the man.

Mostly old hags ringing up though. Sydney won a flag using Lyon's style. Pies and Cats both have relentless backlines.

Defense is key.

As the saying in basketball goes: "Offense sells jerseys, but defense wins championships".

I liked Tom Harley's analogy from a while back. Offence sells memberships, defence wins premierships.

But then i suppose if you had all of the back line, forward line and midfield down pat (like the Lions of 2001-2004) then anything is possible!

That's about as intelligent and accurate as saying Port won a flag in 2004 using Bailey's style.

I disagree. To say it was exactly the same is blatantly wrong, but both Sydney and St Kilda based their games around good contested ball and defence. That didn't change from 2005/6-2009/10. Especially considering the Geelong era was in the middle of that all I think it's a valid point.

Depressing. Can we afford to wait until after the Grand Final to chase Malthouse? If we can't get him, then we're in the poop on the doorstep of trade week.

Very, very disappointing. Full credit to Melbourne for putting in the offers to exactly the right people in Clarkson and Lyon. I think I'm more disappointed in this than LeTom's departure.

Surely we don't have to "officially" wait till the granny, if you smell what I'm cooking..

What struck me as strange was the on the couch it was said we hadn't put an offer to him and we had better hurry up.

Now if we were in that position on Monday night it suggests we weren't serious in chasing him or did I miss something.

What it might suggest is we knew he wasn't on the table or we have another iron in the fire.

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w
