Got the renewal letter for the direct credit card. Red and Blue Family 16 games. Not 17.

More money less games.

Fantastic.

Might wait for the draw to see what it looks like this year

I'm waiting for the draw. We're thinking about upgrading from GA to Reserve.

God I can't wait til 2015(ish) and my Trident though...just can't afford it longterm.

I'm only upgrading when we challenge, I want the guaranteed GF ticket

This would mean the club already has some idea of the fixture and we have 6 interstate games. We don't get a Darwin game next season so we will have 11 home games in Melbourne, hopefully for the clubs sake we can play at least 6 home games against Victoria based clubs.

Hi Demonlanders. We just wanted to clarify the home and away membership for 2012.

Until the 2012 draw comes out, we are not aware and therefore cannot confirm how many games will be played in Melbourne.

Sixteen games in Melbourne is the standard for Victorian Clubs and membership prices reflect this. If we are scheduled to play more games in Melbourne when the draw comes out, the home and away memberships will reflect this. You may recall that initially for 2011, home and away memberships were 16 games and then changed to 17 games once the draw was released, at no extra cost.

As in previous years we will provide more details on the specifics of memberships once the draw is released by the AFL to the Clubs and the public at the end of October.

If you would like more information, please contact our Membership Department on (03)96431760.

Well striker475 you have a few years to save up I would think.

Can you save the extra by 2017?

hopefully I'll still be living in Melbourne by 2017!

These things are always a cost versus benefit.

I have bought memberships for years and not got full benefit.

But i can afford it and I am a nutter how cannot give up even after decades of failure.

Just remember it is only a game.

Pay what you can afford and no more.

What a ordinary way to look at things! It should not matter if Tom stays or goes &/or who is coaching us to whether you re-sign!!

IF your a supporter - you support the club and buy a membership. If you dont buy a membership - you are a barracker!!

We need as many people as possible to sign up for 2012 (after this crap year!), not jump off!! What a crock!

Support is very much a two way street. They also need to support us by making good decisions and building to a flag.

The day I don't renew 1 of two things have happened

1) I have died

2) The MFC has died

and hopefully when I pass my sons will continue buying membership for me in honour

Not sure i agree with you.

I have bought a membership for the majority of the last 40 years.

However there are occasions when the only protest open to member is to withdraw their support.

I often think that MFC members are too accepting.

Following along no matter how the club performs is IMO one of the reasons we have been so long in the wilderness.

In the current envoirnment I find it responsible to see how the club shapes up before supporting it.

Show us the results and we will show you the money.

It is time for the club to show the members they know how to take the club forward.

The members have put their money up over the last three years.

EXACTLY. Was a member until '65 then had to stop because I was working every Saturday (the only day the game was played back then). Rejoined in '84 (still working Saturdays until 2.30) arriving at the ground at half time each week for 2 years. In '86 joined the "Demons Club" then later "Jim Stynes 205 Club" then Legends, Redlegs & lastly Tridents. Premium members for 25 years and only 2 grand finals in all that time.

We will continue to be premium members as long as we can afford it regardless of ladder position, "star signings" or "celebrity coach".

We love the the DEMONS and the MFC.

It is great to be so loyal but has it achieved the holy grail? No.

in fact you have suffered through some truely poor administrations.

Make your feeling known a bit more.

I could not have put it any better myself!

With so much of a burden on household bottom lines in this current financial climate, some things need to be reconsidered.

A club that keeps asking, asking and asking - whilst never producing anything on the field to justify the continual asking is in deep doggie do do.

I, for one, won't be renewing until the club has convinced me that the personnel within the football department are fit for purpose, and there are measures taken to toughen up our sad culture. Only then will I depart with my hard-earned.

I find it funny when you fill in the membership survey questions and they ask will you be more likely to buy a membership if we offer x or y. I will have a membership up until the day I draw my last breath. I am Melbourne!

Will you express your displeasure at the disaster that was the 2011 season on and off the field?

If so how?

If you meekly keep buying your membership and say / do nothing the administratuion will take your membership as a sign of agreement with the way they have handled things.

Look forward to your thoughts.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
