Ok, here is the list of delisted players from the Gold Coast Suns.

Nathan Ablett

Marc Lock

Roland Ah Chee*

Michael Coad

Joel Tippett*

Jack Stanlake

Jake Crawford*

Jack Stanley*

*Rookies.

Not much there to pick through.

Maybe Ah Chee? Longshot though, I reckon.

Pretty sure they'll still need to make a few more changes to accommodate incoming draftees.

We could recruit Nathan Ablett to show the other guys how to get a premiership medal without really trying very hard.

More seriously, I'd rookie Ah Chee. Based largely on what I was aware of the time of his drafting, I must confess. Plus his name is fun to say.

Yeah i heard good things about the guy when drafted also, rookie spot cant hurt, could be the small forward we need?

Given that GC had a bigger list than anyone else, I'd suggest that their delistees are the least likely to be any good, as they don't have the same "we'd really love to keep you, but..." problem. I'm usually not that interested in other club's discards at the best of times, even less so in this case.

This is the classic "draft him because he has a funny name" syndrome, as seen with Serhat Temel and Majak Daw in previous years. If Ah Chee was any good, GC at the very least would've given him a second year on the rookie list.

I'd be offering a very late pick for Charlie Dixon. He is not delisted, so it would cost us something, but a 4th round pick would be good if it worked.

What's the story there? I didn't pay any attention to them after a while, but I thought he really looked the goods early in the season.

Glad you brought up Serhat again- he would be our Full forward now..if I had my way.

That's ridiculous, you left out Casey Sibosado.

Was mentioned as a potential trade option for the right return. It could be a case of offering one of our "fringe players" plus a last round pick, and in return we get Dixon and a 3rd round pick, or something to that affect.

The GC have a lot of KPP/Rucks, they wont be able to keep them all, and Dixon will be 21 next year, with the hope of playing more footy (only played 8 games this year). Perhaps we could offer Spencer, who could be a ready-made replacement for Fraser, which will give them Smith and Spencer to share the rucks.

No thanks. They took a hell of a lot of kids, and like every draft some of them turn out to be duds. I see no need to take a punt on a kid who has already had a shot at AFL and failed. Let them play a few years in second tier competitions and show something special before we think about them again.

No, he'd been in the Casey 2s and we'd be moaning about how Fev's presence was hampering his development, along with Lucas Cook's.

Or he'd have already been delisted.

If we want players with names which are fun to say we should follow in the footsteps of GCS and GWS and raid the NRL for Fui Fui Moi Moi.(I have no idea if I spelt that name correctly). Or trade for Steele Sidebottom - voted in an online poll, I believe, as the funniest name in sport.

No way - get former Melbourne Storm forward Pale Ale.

Surely Freddie Clutterbuck of East Perth should be getting this push.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
