Thank god there's a teacher here to edit what fix did you make on your post for the edit genius

If you must know, there was a minor formatting error with some bold type. The tag was in the slightly wrong place.

If you object to having your work improved, all you need to do is write in an intelligible manner to begin with.

Caught up with my mate at the footy last night. He's very good family friends with a GWS development coach (I've been trying to get any inide info all year). My mate's house sitting for him in Melbourne, and he's asked a few times for me but he's given nothing. However, last night my mate said that Scully is gone and the deal is done. He also mentioned the Brogan / Power stuff a while ago.

He also said that Dean Bailey, now working with the Calder Cannons as a "special" finals coach apparently, said that while Tom is a really nice, good kid he is gone..

I suspect that when they pay you a salary of over a million a year they can choose when to announce it. It seems the wait is PR. Wait and see I guess, but I think we all know what's coming.

Just passing it on.

I would presume that if he re-signs, the club already knows who the coach will be, and therefore so does Tom. I couldn't imagine them letting it roll on past next week.

I just cant believe that a player would commit to a club pending a coach! If this was the case we would have not resigned anyone!

I think the loss of Scully on field can be covered by a fit Gysberts, and although I haven't seen young Viney play, from all reports he will be a brilliant acquisition. So should we lose him from an on field perspective I don't think we'll suffer that much.

He is only one player, and if losing one player is going to [censored] our premiership window chances we were no chance to begin with.

Just wish they'd bloody hurry up with the decision because I'm sick of this website being my homepage lately!

It's not an English essay, but at least make it readable. Try and have a bit of pride in what you write.

Why wouldn't the MFC just announce it then? Why should we wait for a GWS presser...stuff that.

I still wait and see.

Bail is already better than Scully, so not a great loss but it would be nice if he stayed.

I agree,.. if your mate is friends with a GWS dev coach, then without the name of that coach these comments are next to worthless sorry.

MFC has NOTHING to gain from this. If something has been decided on Scully either way, MFC would announce it ASAP.

It's either an official statement or it's hearsay.

Every time someone claims to be good friends with a GWS official etc all I hear is Scully's best friend's brother in law's brother's dog's attorney etc etc.

If it's out there Joe Smith from Demonland isn't going to be breaking the news. No offense.

Box ticking

Clock ticking

Scully’s gone , rumour’s sticking

Much thinking

Many sticking

Fat with Tom’s notoff-nicking

Melbourne’s blinking

Sydney’s winking

Demons’ hopeful but heart’s sinking

Red and Blue jumper should be fitting

But money’s easy picking

I agree. I've heard it too, albeit through different sources. And I'm not going to disclose from whom, because the cheerleader stuff on this thread is mindless and pathetic.

It is hearsay. I don't need that pointed out to me from someone who can't actually articulate, when pressed, what hearsay actually is and why it is generally inadmissible in a court of law.

I suspect the announcement will be made on Monday. If not Monday, then Tuesday. It seems we absolutely wasted this pick. And, as a passionate Demons' supporter, I'm really annoyed about this.

On the upside - it will make the glory even better when we eventually taste it.

I think people just like to gloat about having sources so it appears that they are in the know, and in some kind of circle of knowledge. It's just big noting yourself. If the information was credible and from THE source and not second hand, then surely the intimate relationship between source and messanger would ensure confidentiality.

Until I see Scully in a filthy GWS shirt I couldn't give a [censored] which distant nobody has heard stuff about Scully

How can anyone mention Luke Power stuff a while ago when he announce his retirement two weeks ago because Michael Voss told him to.

Our conversation was over several beers in the Percy Beams bar. He mentioned Power, not sure how long ago he pre-empted this. Who knows, the deal could've been in place since October

Because he is old and an impending retirement is easier to read than an early defection.

In any case Power retiring isn't as sensitive as the Scully issue.

This is the very type of argument that the Christian Right in Kansas (who flatly refuse to teach evolutionary theory in schools) put to Christopher Hitchens in response to his rational arguments as to the existence of God - ie, you can't prove it, so I won't believe it.

The point is that the 'official statement' has not yet been made. Everyone knows and accepts that. However, that doesn't mean that the underlying facts don't exist - it merely means that they have not been 'announced' yet. And it is clear to me that, absent an 'official' announcement, some people steadfastly refuse to believe what most people know to be fact. Head in the sand stuff.

I'm interested to know how these people will react if, as many expect, Scully announces next week that he will be wearing the grey and orange in 2012.

Yep, certainly heresay. But thought I'd pass it on. However, I am sure amongst the thousands of posts, one demonlander will have had it right and will claim it.

Yeah, we really wasted it by getting the best player in the draft.

Good grief. What a goose.

They will react the way any Scully fan would react I'd imagine- outraged. But that doesn't mean they have egg on their faces. It means they were open to all possibilities until official confirmation was available.

Unless you have spoken to Scully or someone with first hand information (not detached) you wont know for sure. You are simply putting 2 and 2 together. All signs point to him leaving, but I don't have my head in the sand because I am waiting for official confirmation.

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm

    DEFUSE THE BOMBERS by Meggs

Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill. A first-time venue for the Melbourne AFLW team, this should be a familiar suburban, windy, footy environment for the players.   Essendon were brave and competitive last week against ladder leader Adelaide at Sturt’s home ground. A familiar name, Maddison Gay, was the Bombers best player with

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out
