We're not that shallow. How about that Youtube highlight package?

The guys gonna turn it all around and become an AFL Finals player. Not. Forget him.

If you want to take a risk take Fev, He can mark, kick and hit the scoreboard. Otherwise we'd be better getting Leroy b'Brown to pull on the Blades.

What's disappointing is the ease at which we could've picked Butcher, Darling or Sam Reid in the draft, and now some are prepared to trade a really important MFC player and clubman for one of those guys - indeed someone potentially inferior to those guys.

It's not like we didn't know we needed such a player in those drafts. I really hope we backed the right horse with Cook.

Neeld strikes me as a guy who will actually instil and command discipline. Perhaps Fev is therefore the man to target. He does kick goals. That's a science fact.

Did I hear the words Science and Fevola used in the same post. Surely not !

I was being a tad sarcastic. Gumbleton no doubt has serious talent but if Essendon were willing to let him go then alarm bells would ring for me.

Butcher was never an option as he was not a top two pick (Scully/Trengove). If he was available at our next pick I am sure we would have picked him but no great loss as he has played 3 good games so far in two years. By that reckoning Cook has until this time next year to show something.

Its not up to Neeld to instil and command discipline in the individual. Its the individual himself.

Fev is not the person to target! Any chance behavioural sciences provides some facts.

Its not about taking a risk it finding the right player and Fev is not the answer.

Definitely agree. If he gets his body right then he will be a great asset but for essendon to shop him around means that they can't or don't want to try a fix his problems. Only reason to trade for him is if he wants to leave.

I was surprised to discover that he didn't play a single game this year. That and only 20 games in five seasons would mean that his value would have to be set very low.

In light of this, I'd stay away and possibly explore whether we could get Lachlan Hansen if we're going to go down that track anyway.

Would rather Jordan Lisle from the hawks than both Gumbelton and Hansen.

196cm 93kg 2008 draftee. He will not get a game with Franklin, Roughead and Hale in the side.

You know what the biggest problem with that is? It means that he is the 4th player in line and obviously not what you would consider a top line player. I just don't think we should lower our sights and look for players not good enough to get a game elsewhere.

If we are going to trade i would like to think we were going to look for someone that a club would be unhappy, to lose not anxious to trade.

Yeah but who is keeping him at 4th position? Franklin, Roughead and Hale. All 3 would be best 22 at our club.

He is only 21 years old, His best years are all in front of him. He is playing good football at VFL and wouldn't cost us the world.

Hawks have not offered him for trade but rumor is a few clubs have inquired about him apparently.

I don't xare if we get fev or Not. But we do that already mature Tall marking forward who'll crash packs.

I'd be happy to have Leroy do it.

Or a Hall type, Cornes would have been handy to hold the spot and assist our other kids onfield with blocks and experience/leadership. Someone cheap, as we have some good kids, So we can spend on our Midfield woes.

    GAMEDAY: Rd 16 vs Brisbane

It's Game Day and the Dees are deep in the heart of enemy territory as they take on the Lions in Brisbane under the Friday Night Lights at the Gabba. Will the Demon finally be awakened and the season get back on track or will they meekly be sacrificed like lambs to the slaughter?

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.
