Seriously?

Stynes and Schwab got the club back on it's feet... now, you wanna say 'Thanks, and goodbye'? Throw those two away and you may as well kiss MFC goodbye in 10yrs.

Connolly is pretty quiet actually. Don't hear much from him... considering how media-savy he was at Fremantle.

Prendergast has done a really good job in recent years with recruitment. Our issue is players above 23yrs of age, which is on Craig Cameron's head. Without Prendergast picking a few nice diamonds from the rough, I reckon we would be in more trouble on-field.

Stynes and Schwab need to stick to running the club and finding as much $$$ for the football department. They have to stick together. They can't let their ego's get in the way but at the same time need to stay proud.

Prendagast for a novice recruiter seems to have done ok. We probably need to stick with him, same with list manager Tim Harrington.

Connolly needs to get vocal or go. He hasn't been heard enough this year. I get the distinct feeling he's left Bailey out to dry.

Yes, dead serious.

No more halos and sacred cows.

If we produce more performances like today we will be gone in three years, not ten.

And Prendergast is doing a shocking job in my opinion. Recruiting nice skinny boys with zero mongrel. That will be his legacy.

Jim saved this club (with a little help from his friends) but I don't think he's been too well these last few weeks. And I'm sure today's result will not help him feel any better.

I think the players (together with the coaches) are the ones who deserve a kick up the bum. They're the ones being paid big $$$ to play the game.

There are more deep rooted problems than our on-field efforts at the Melbourne Footy Club.

Honeymoon's over for these gentlemen.

I know we had a terrible day, but that doesn't justify ridiculous threads like this.

Thank god the two S's and BP are there. Connolly ... not sure, hard for an outsider to judge.

Is Leigh Matthews available, interested in coaching again and willing to bring the mongrel needed to our club? There is a guy who will stop at nothing to acheive success and as an opponent I hated him but since I've been alive he has won 8 premierships and the MFC 0.

I highly doubt we will produce another performance like today, yet if we do... what do Stynes and Schwab have to do with the on-field stuff? They can't kick goals for the team, they can't get clearances, they can't tackle an opposition player.

Not happy with Scully, Trengove, Tapscott, Gawn, McKenzie, ect?

Off field leaders set the tone of a football club., They instill a culture. They put in place the coaching panel.

At the moment we are failing in all of these areas.

And anyone can select a gun in the first few picks. It's who you get from pick 10 downwards that earns you your stripes.

Clubs like Hawthorn and Geelong, who have been riding high for years, have better up and coming players than us. That says it all.

Is it just me who thinks Clarkson is overrated? Seriously, he has a playing list that consists of Franklin, Hodge, Mitchell, Roughead, Rioli, etc and he has one premiership to show for it. Had Geelong kicked straight in 2008, he'd have no premierships. Yeah, he introduced the tactics of 'pressing' and so forth, but Eade introduced flooding too and he has no premierships to show for it. Just cause you can introduce a 'revolutionary' game-plan means nothing. I want a coach who can make a team play as a team. A team who can drive his team to lift beyond their talent. A Leigh Matthews type. A Malcome Blight type.

Agree. Recruiting Blease, Strauss, Bennell and Jetta in 2008 instead of Shuey, Hannebury, Trengove, Zaharakis, McKernan, Redden, Beams or many others was a bad first year for Prendergast.

Just the one premiership?? What a hack!!

Considering the injury list at Hawthorn right now, i think Clarkson is doing a fantastic job.

I would love a coach who started a trend all other clubs took on.

I love what Jimmy, Schwab Connolly have done for the CLUB. It's not the club that worries me, it's the continual tragic form of our team. We are up and down like a honeymoon nightie, we fold against good teams, and now this. But these same off-field leaders now need to step up and demonstrate that they can be angry and tough when they need to. Up until about 6 weeks ago I was a Bailey fan and stuck to my guns. I now believe he must not be retained ans should depart this week if possible. And it is Jimmy and the club leaders who need to get in and give the footy department a good burst.

Exactly right.

Or are we bruise-free administrators as well? ...

Dean Bailey's post match presser.

A reporter asked if thier was anything going on behind the scenes at the club (The question was clear and concise regarding spoken problems at the club).

Dean responded that he didn't understand the question and quickly answered by changing the subject completely by refering to answer's he had already given about todays game. I know he was never going to give answers regarding the question, but after people on the website started jumping at brad green's interview this week, wow.

It will all come out this week...No team in VFL/AFL history has kicked 37 goals before, there is nowhere to hide.

No, it's the heart of the matter.

Anyone hear Pickering talking about massive off field issues in the pre-game show?

10,9,8,7,6.... you guess the rest.

If there is, & you know more accurately what it is exactly, as I've heard there was some disquiet, I think you should make it known to the supporters.

Is that true about 37 goals. I knew we had taken the gold (and now silver) in greatest losing margin. Surely a VFL side has kicked more than 37 goals. I just started feeling a little better. Ughh

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had
