On the radio they were talking about Macdonald missing a week so....

In: Tapscott, Warnock

Out: MacDonald, Morton

Let Warnock just sit on Barry Hall.

Out: McDonald (in inj), Bennell

In: Tapscott (if fit), Evans/Bartram.

Morton whilst not great today should be given another chance.

Bennell in my eyes never does enough and doesnt deserve his spot.

Tapscott to be sub - easily best 22

Evans/Bartram - 50:50 who gets the nod

Morton has been good for two weeks but it is no excuse for some poor execution today. Just like bartram last week he should be dropped. I would be playing Blease next week. Tapscott only if McDonald cant play.

If you want poor execution then Blease will be your man!

Tapscott in for Morton.

If Macdonald is out then take your pick from Bartram, Evans or Blease - either way barn doors will be missed.

I think Bennell earned his spot today.

Was the key in turning defence into attack.

JB needs more games and will be an absolute gun.

Morton's had enough to show us what he's made of although we will probably need to trade him.

tapsott in for sure and would be good to have a look at blease.. got to look at match ups though as well. getting very competitive for a game now !

Dogs have a lot of quick medium small blokes.

With another 6 day break fresh legs are crucial.

The only question about Tapscott would be the amount of footy he has missed- 5 weeks. They might need to give him 1 at Casey first.

In: Blease, Possibly Tapscott or Dunn

Out: MacDonald, Possibly Morton

Disagree. I thought HiFi was pretty good today, and certainly did enough to hold his spot.

If Joel Mac is injured (which apparently he is), like for like with Tappy coming in to replace him. Then Morton makes way for Blease. I think either way, Tappy in.

I'd agree with that. JB was solid enough today. Did some very good things. Soft at one contest I noted, but made up for it and being tough at it in other contests. Needs to keep getting games under his belt in order to develop some consistency.

Outs: MacDonald (inj), Strauss

Ins: Dunn, Tapscott

Assuming MacDonald is injured I'd bring in Dunn as he has the physical size to at least compete with Hall and has played run with roles in the past. His chances of playing in our forward line seem limited going forward and so proving that he can play half back is his best chance of cementing a spot in the side.

As for the other change, Tapscott has an excellent footy brain and foot skills that match if not surpass Strauss's one virtue.

The only other change I'd consider is Bartram in for Bennell. Bartram had an eye injury last week that arguably gives him some excuse for his poor disposal and decision-making. He is as quick as Bennell and at least he adds hardness.

Strauss again? So many people seem to want this guy to fail. I really don't understand why. He's doing a pretty good job and has yet to reach his tenth game. Leave him in the senior side for the rest of the year and see how much he improves.

In his first few games Straussy in a one-on-one was/is a worry. But it was the same with our top two defenders when they first started - Chip and Col Garland. Gotta keep Strauss playing. Just like JB. We need small defenders. That's our weak spot at the moment, so keep giving those two game time.

Nicho has really impressed me. He's been caught holding the ball twice so far and has broken probably 15 tackles and broken the lines as a result. His run is becoming really important. Bartram's on the outer now. His disposal doesn't match up with Strauss and Nicho's.

Strauss looked lost today and hardly ever played man on man.

I'm not saying he's not the future of the club. But his performance was poor today.

What the hell does Dunn size have anything to do with Hall! Frawley, Rivers and Garland are all in line to play on Hall and barring them Warnock can do a job. Dunn will be at the other end of the field, he's not a half back and shouldn't get the chance to play there without doing it as Casey first. Dunn still has a career if he can get back to his high work rate footy that allows him to play half forward and midfield. When Green goes the ideal situation would be to put in Cook, but Dunn is still number 1 in line. He'll be out of contract again next year so I expect big things then!

Also unless Bartram has had this eye injury for the last five years it's not excuse. Bennell isn't as hard as him, but even though he has minimal possessions is really giving us run, something Bartram hasn't been able to provide since his first year.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
