Injury List: Round 10

If we weren't so thin at the moment, I wouldn't be surprised if Jurrah was given a week to rest whatever seems to be niggling him. Unfortunately, with so many out he is just going to have to play through it.

Or should they just bite the bullet and give him a week off anyway?

That's assuming there are no more injuries between now and then.

Melbourne had the best run of injuries I could remember up until the Adelaide game, then disaster.

Yep wonder if it had anything to do with the grueling training session after the WC loss, probably just coincidence

Heart strings can heal quickly, just a few goals early is all that they need.

might need Wonna back as well. we were getting the ball into the forward line on Saturday but failing to convert.

Don't see how he could help. He's supposed to be creating forward pressure as a small forward but he's not.

Could chuck him in the backline and see how Carlton do it though :)

Versus the previous four games when he has been there!

Sure we are not falling for a line by the FD to throw Carlton off a bit.

I will believe it when he runs out friday night.

Sorry Eth38 put this on the wrong comment

The unavailable list (ordered by weeks):

I would just love to see Scully, Trengove, Tapscott, Bail, Garland, Jamar all back in, and all playing rounds 15-24. When I say that, I feel for Grimes missing these games, so unfortunate.

But to see Gysberts, McKenzie, Tapscott, Trengove, Bail & Scully all playing during this period with Jamar in the ruck, would put a smile on my dial. I know injuries happen, but I hope we haven't to endure anymore long term injuries for the remainder. Unlikely but fingers crossed anyway. I just see that it's important they get games all together. Sooner the better.

I'm hoping that Blease & Strauss get a look in - in the meantime.

Whilst he hasn't been great, I hardly think he deserves to be dropped, considering the terrible quality of the delivery he has had to contend with.

I think Bate, Newton and Petterd are far bigger worries for us than LJ's efforts.

If we didn't select him because of his injury/injuries - which are apparent for all to see - then we wouldn't be dropping him...

Absolutely. I think we'd be a decent team.

I share your pain re: Grimes.

Bleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Holey Moley. He's gone from 3 weeks to test in one single week.

He must be Superman!

Sorry if this has been mentioned already but fox sports last night stated that Scully will be lining up in the VFL this week. Not quite sure how true it is but it was definately stated!

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the
