Can we request a retrospective hearing for Sylvia's jaw and White's face? After all, if the starting point is the injury and then we start looking for blame, I think those guys have a good gripe! :(

this result has made it official......this sport is getting more soft by the week

I think the Melbourne team actually made a fatal flaw by not putting their focus heavily on the fact Dangerfield kicked out at the football as Trengove swung him around, significantly contributing to the impact of the tackle.

This was the key point, in my opinion.

Makes it hard to argue the sport is not turning soft when a young player with a clean record is wipped out for three weeks for a tackle.

I think the whole thing was a sham and their mind was made up before it all started.

In additional news: " Trengove given another 3 weeks for punching Andrew Tinney in the face"

This is just absolute crap.

Who is up for torching afl house or whatever it is called.

Absolute disgrace, this Andrew Tinney is a jumped up grandstanding little c^#t...read the transcript...mind made up already...he would never have played football in his life...thinks he can determine what excessive force is...how can he possibly determine that...Tinney was the same bloke who questioned the manhood of Steven Baker...cant stand people who think they are bigger than the game...who place these little turds in positions of power????

ok so from this day forth do the AFL ban the practice of pinning a players arm in a tackle??? If injuries and consequences are not taken into account surely anyone who pins a players arm in a tackle are negligent and reckless???

Just one week closer to wearing flags and playing touch football.

This sport is a shadow of what it was.

The MRP are a bunch of wankers, the tribunal are wankers, the AFL are wankers.

The game is now a corporate spectacle, not a contest of men.

Shoot them all.

All of them are [censored] off. The [censored] thing is that someone will do the same thing to us next week and nothing will happen. And if we bring it up we will be fined. Such a [censored] system. 3 weeks for this.

Yet Judd can elbow Pavlich in the face while he is on the ground and gets a Brownlow.

If someone has the time could they please find the stats on how many teams have appealed, failed, and recieved more weeks? i don't think it's many. could only happen to melbourne.

Posted

We can appeal I believe?

And I hope we do!

We have nothing to lose now and it's worth a try. It seems unbelievable to me that they can justify 3 weeks for a tackle when kicking a player in the nuts or punching them in the face (with a bad record) gets you 2 weeks max.

ARGH!!!!

Posted

Well its official now - Trengove IS A THUG

They don't hand out THREE week suspensions to just-naughty players do they?

effin joke!

Isnt he supposed to get some sort of discount as he has a clean record?

Posted

What a dead set joke !!!!

I bet if he played for carlton or collingwood he may have only got a reprimand !!

Mfc has no clout or credibility anywhere in the afl.

[censored] you afl ..... Best the match review panel gets started suspending the players that did the 5 similar tackles from last night.

Bunch of hypocrites ..... Yet col Silvia getting his jaw broken last year is deemed fair.

Stand back and take a good hard look afl

Absolutely. Hell, Judd got a Brownlow for elbowing Pavlich in the face.

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. 2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
