I heard that Melbourne offered Jesse White a contract, but he wanted more money. I am surprised there has been no talk of him coming to melbourne next year. Perhaps if we dont get hale we will make a play for Jessie.

I hope we go hard after him, a better option then Hale IMO.

Not a big fan of Jesse White personally. Similar ability to Hale I guess though probably not quite as good. Sydney would probably accept pick 32. Depending how desperate we are for a 2nd ruckman it does seem likely to FD would look to a guy like Jesse.

We'd be laughing if we got White for pick 32.

I dont think Sydney would let him go anyway.

White would command more money, a higher pick, and more attention in the papers.

Far superior player.

Cannot see Sydney letting him go.

Sydney wouldn't let him go for anything less than a high teens pick or maybe in the 20's....

It will be interesting to see if we target someone else if/when the Hale trade falls through.

Love to get this guy but would he offer enough respite for Jamar in the ruck? I realise it would be his main position but I can't remember him doing much in the way of ruck work.

Rhys Stanley would fit perfectly if he's available.

Funny thing is the "new rule" makes him very, very much needed at Saints

Obviously it's just personal opinion, but I disagree. I watched sydney quite a few games this year, and there is good reason he was dropped a couple of times and I don't rate him very highly.

That being said, he is a useful player I think pick 32 is pretty fair.

What about Daniel Currie ex-Victorian ... kid can play. Surely would be behind Mumford, Seaby, White & Pyke.

I'm open to that as well, & the SCG, IMO would be somewhere that young Maric would roam well on those wide flanks.

I'd go hard for Jessie, & see what comes of it... Maric + 3rd Rnd. ????

Any 200cm Tall, as long as they are strong overhead.

http://www.dailytele...0-1225934796901 Back again, as I suspected.

This may cause impatience. Go hard @ Both Stanley &/or McEvoy... I'd Pay high for these guys 2nd Rnd + a Maric or Other...I need to Edit this of course as Stanley was one who signed a 1Yr contract @ StKilda. 2011... This may be the time for us.

I remember watching this kid when he was a junior, big, strong, aggressive and can kick the living day lights out of the ball (oh and he is a Victorian)

Here is an interesting article http://www.canberratimes.com.au/news/local/sport/football-australian-rules/swans-rookie-ruckman-currie-readymade-to-replace-spida/1273306.aspx

His only down side is his injury problems. Look it all depends on price.

It seems that many young guys who must play, 'the physical game', seem to often get injured, until they find a way to get their bodies right.

I reckon if you reduce his "ruck" workload and use him as "more" as forward you might get more out of him. I just feel at the Swans they needed a ruckman & that is where he has been groomed for. With us we might get more out of him.

Proud of the Demon's standing firm with Pick 32. Hale u suck!

However, we still have time to snare a good young player with plenty of potential.

As other posters have mentioned. Daniel Currie & Jesse White are possibilites.

Currie the one to come more cheaply. Would a late pick be sufficient?

I think Currie should be our target.

We can wait a year or two to trade for an experienced forward/ruck if need be when our premiership window comes wide open.

By the way! I think Fitzpatrick is our sleeping giant at the forward/ruck position. Fitzy is going to be a star *

Just for the record- it wasn'tHale that sucks- it was North dictating to us-and we told them to get stuffed-GOT IT..

* In about 8 years.

The reasons why we didn't go after White are because he would be far more expensive in both salary and picks.

Hale would have been a good fit.

And now we wait for next trade week to see what falls.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
