Pretty straight forward, I think- Sam Blease for me. Was very excited that we recruited him and also saddened when he [censored] his leg.

Itching to see what pace he can bring and how his fine delivery and ball winning abilities may add even more X factor to a team thats starting to look like the justice crew

Max Gawn I believe to be the man whose impact could serve us best. He is a mountain and if he comes on correctly, Jamar/Gawn alone = major headaches for any team. Go dees

I voted Luke Tapscott from all reports he could very well be "our" version of Paul Chapman.

tapscott, then fitzpatrick

tapscott is going to be a genuine freak

if fitzpatrick agile as anything, good dukes, could be important as we will need a ruckman goalscorer and i think this is our most likely option.

Posted

Tappy could definately add that hardened edge we have been crying out for. Who would tappy push out? A Dunn, a petterd, a Bennell if Blease comes on?

Posted

Whilst I think Blease will be more important in the long run, I really want to see Tapscott out there. Just feel he could be something special (Blease too, but Tapscott might make his mark from the get go).

I answered the first question in favour of Max Gawn, not just because I'm his sponsor but because it would be great to see the 208cm ruckman run out onto the G and destroy those midget ruckmen like Jolly and co.

Posted

Can't wait for tapscott.

Gawn will be the most important part of a premiership core setup. Don't know how good Jamar will be in 3-4 years so If this guy matches the hype it will be huge

I'm kind of hopeing he's ready while Jamar is still fireing and there can be a smooth transition of sorts... because I want everything to be rosey of course.

When all is said and done, assuming Gawn comes on, do you think MFCs future number 2 ruck is currently in our squad?

Posted

I know he has already debuted but for me its Gysberts. Joel Corey Mk 2.

A bit of a tuffy, cant wait to see Sam and Luke but i only hope the we will dominate from the first bounce with the 208+ cm Max in the near future, may be as good as Sandilands B)

Sorry i missed your post -- me too!

Anyone aware of Fitzpatricks progress? Bulking up? Working on getting his kick more penetrable? He could be our Hale type after all?

Posted

Watch this and tell me you're not excited about seeing Blease in action!

Very impressive speed and "nimbleness"!!

Ahhhh... but for the broken leg.

Posted

Blease obviously.

Not so obvious when we have Scully and Davey in the guts for pace.

However... a Luke Tapscot (likened to a Paul Chapman!!) is the kind of player we miss. Small bulky forward that can run around all day and take and make a decent hit.

Can't wait.

Future Forward line in 3 years time (omitting Green): Aussie, Jurrah, Tapscott, Petterd, Watts, Sylvia... with Bate on the outer. **drools**

No James Strauss?

No one think we need players who can penetrate by foot between the arcs?

Strauss debuted at the start of this year. Would like to see alot more of him

Tappy. Geez I've heard some great things about him from some serious players in the Adelaide market. Big, big, big wraps on the lad. Let's hope he can at least make some of those wraps true at the MFC.

Posted

Tappy first then Sammy Blease (I hope).

I think Tappy will be debuting rnd1 2011, Blease will need a very solid preseason and strong Casey form to push for a mid season debut barring any nagging leg issues.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
