The people have spoken, E25...

Perhaps you should listen to them.

DeezMan... E25 gets the 'gist' mate.

I know you guys were being vague, almost cryptic like but it was pretty obvious. Just understand it's in the best interests of the site and the people who run the site, as well as all members.

Perhaps you should listen to them.

What HT said.

And you'll find, if you read this thread, I'm far from the only one with this opinion.

To say the "people have spoken" is an idiotic line. A few people have voiced their views.

I'll continue to listen to opinions, provided they are educated and considered.

Yours in this thread have been neither.

Things are never as good as they seem, nor are they as bad.

Geelong fans may have had the same attitude as you until the Stokes episode.

Theirs is a club full of highly-credentialled leaders, with a strong club culture and respected football dept and board.

They have set the benchmark, yet they are not immune.

Nor are we.

*face palm* You still do not get it, do you??

Read my original post again. You can only judge by what is in the present. Of course anything can happen in the future - that goes for anything in life!!! It's a flawed argument.

There's not time like the present and, at present, the Dees are being perceived in the public eye as "good guys" with minimal (if any) antisocial behaviour.

Mad Monday has passed and nor a murmur.

For me, this is not a debate about whether it (whatever it is) should be legal

I was getting sick of people making excuses for other people who make bad choices and illegal choices (and not just once)

Arguing it should be illegal or not is avoiding the issue of personal choice and responsibily and consequences

If you are not very familiar with drugs law in Victoria and Australia the I would suggest you take a closer look as they are very draconian, grossly unfair and should be changed. For example, if your housemate was selling/trafficking drugs from his bedroom and you had no idea about it you can still be charged and face several years imprisonment for trafficking drugs if the drugs are found at your house and a number of people have been jailed for this. Can you imagine being jailed because your housemate was a dealer but kept his trade well hidden from you?! In order to get escape a conviction you basically have to hope you housemate confessed otherwise you would be up [censored] creek.

I know its way off topic but I have very little faith in much of our legal system and don't like it when people base their opinions on 'the law'

What are you talking about?

I didn't give any opinion on whether recreational (or other) drug use should or should not be legal/illegal, I said that was for a different forum.

I didn't talk about any drug dealer's housemate or any other hypothetical rubbish you can come up with.

Go back and read all my posts from the beginning and understand the context I responded to

If you want to discuss changing the law then yes, you are off-topic, and no, I'm not saying the law is always correct.

I'm really glad our guys seem to be great role models, do community outreach etc etc.

Guys like Colin Sylvia, Aaron Davey are doing really great things

But, I support the Dees no matter what...better if they're stand up guys however

Off-field fine, but how about a bit of legitimate [censored] on-field?

Bump.

Speaking of touch wood.

How did the Demons go on Mad Monday?

Not even a murmur, Godemons.

They went to Riva in St Kilda and then on a pub crawl in which my mates' bro was working at one of the pubs! He said they were a great group of guys, caused no trouble and had a great time. All were easy to talk to as well.

I heard from JWatts the boys love the JD & Coke and as much as the boys tried they couldn't get Tom Scully to have a drink.

Another sacrifice. Don't have to drink to have a good time.

Young Tom certainly has his head screwed on properly. We are lucky to have him.

Has Sculls never had a drink in his life?

So he says.

Something along the lines of vowing to never to drink so he could make his dream of playing AFL.

Scares me a little, cos when guys like that finally get pressured into getting on the sauce when they are a little older (and they all do), things tend to go a little bit ben cousins.

I'd like to think he'll have a bit of champagne when he wins his first flag.

He'll be fine though. Gotta give him credit for his strength of character up until this stage, in spite of the peer pressure the boys at the club are already putting on him!

Very committed lad Scully is. Just hope that Ben Cousins affect doesnt occur, but he doesnt seem like that kind of person to do that sort of stuff. A champion in the making.

Geez that's being brought to the table already??? Pretty extreme!

18-19 years of age and a 21-gamer. Who knows what may happen... but he has publicly said he doesn't get on the alc and you can tell that the kid looks a VERY disciplined and controlled lad.

Looking forward to Sculls being a MASSIVE role model at his peak. Not that I'm bringing THIS to the table already... :)

Deezman just saying Scully will never be like Ben Cousins.

I would seriously doubt Sculls will associate with that kind of behaviour. Very smart, professional guy.

Cousins was on the drugs at 17, before he even got drafted.

WTF are the parallels here??

I don't get it either. The kid won't drink alcohol so he can play better footy and now he is setting himself up for a slide into drug abuse and disgrace according to some. Geez this site gets strange in the off season.

Sometimes they get a bit carried away with the "getting intoxicated" side of things.

I said "a little bit".

No need to take everything so literally and seriously.

Chillaxxx guys.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
