Bartram - excellent holding job

Bate - just occasional cameos

Bennell - clever but limited

Bruce - trojan and workhorse

Davey - angry but effective

Garland - did his job

Green - classy as usual

Grimes - confident and effective

Gysberts - a revelation again

Jamar - sublime palming again

Jetta - creative second half

Jones - one wonderful goal

McDonald - 3 disciplined quarters

Miller - provided a contest

Moloney - regularly broke lines

Morton - almost best form

Rivers - continues to concern

Scully - was well held

Sylvia - enjoyed midfield freedom

Trengove - was relatively quiet

Warnock - took his chances

Watts - must be dropped

Bate - weak,weak,weak

Didn't win a single one on one competition.

Only goal was a gimme which Jetta should of kicked.

He had a bad day like most of his team mates. He also did the most courageous act of the day backing into Waite and getting poleaxed, marked the ball and won the contest. Did you miss that, or was it a weak effort??

Bate didn't back into it just went for the ball but it was a good effort. he is more weak in a contest. Dropped a easy chest mark that cost us a goal early. Is very slow and not a clever player. Should have gone for a mark but he just left it trying to run on it but is to slow. Is unbelievably over rated. He is just a plodder.

Not sure what contest Miller provided with his one kick? He will be replaced by Dunn or Hughes

If that's the same incident I think it is he took quite a few short steps, he would have taken that easily if he kept going.

I have supported Bruce for most of the time he has been with the club but today he showed that he is slowing up and quite quickly. He seems to take an eternity to pick up the ball and then just as long deciding what to do with it, it's like watching the game in slow motion at times.

Is it just me or has anyone else noted his habit of trailing behind the ball as it goes over the line?

Do you think holding them back last week was a hindrance (maybe their confidence was growing each week they played, and not playing has set them back in that regard)?

In which case, they should be up for blinders next week!

The guy next to me was convinced they play him as trade bait for the Gold Coast so Petterd doesn't leave

    REDEEMING by Meggs

    It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill.     BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

    Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval.     DRUBBING by Meggs

    With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.
