Have u got your votes upside down? It's 6 votes for best, 5 for second best, etc.

Thanks, I shouldn't post when I am as angry as I was last night. But I had changed it before I read your post. Cheers.

Go Dee's.

6. Scully - Outstanding. To see him directing traffic around the stoppages was awsome for one so young. Our second Rising Star nom. for the season?

5. Grimes - Decision making and execution first class in very tough conditions. So cool under pressure.

4. Trengove - Lots of hard-earned posessions and used them all to advantage.

3. Bate - His best game for the year in conditions that didn't suit him. Really stepped up in our depleted forward half.

2. Bruce - Worked tirelessly and used it well.

1. Warnock - Kept Hall to zero influence.

Apologies to Jones, McKenzie, McDonald, Davey and Bennell.

The skills, composure and commitment of our youngsters were amazing last night. After the initial disappointment of the loss, I'm now seeing so many positives. The future is indeed rosy.

Warnock absolutely starred in defence. Brilliant game.

Harsh on Grimes but he turned the ball over a ridiculous amount of times for someone of his obvious talent.

6 - Scully: Probably the most dominant game I've ever seen from an 18 year old. Unbelievable.

5 - Warnock: I thought he was awesome on Hall.

4 - Trengove: Second fiddle to Scully, but still an absolute gun.

3 - Bate: X-Factor up forward.

2 - Bruce: Very good.

1 - McKenzie: already in our top half a dozen or so most important IMO. Makes things happen.

Thanks to all those who voted. Tom Scully was given the perfect game by the three posters selected at random. Great to see so much young blood challenging this year!

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
