MMM yeah test...interesting phrase that one. I guess lots of players get that written next to their name and they still miss...but it must mean hes getting close though...and Liam only 10 weeks and counting.....cant wait !!

I think we have been lucky not to pick up any more injuries in the last few weeks,,, fingers crossed.

Posted

Geez imagine if we had Liam coming back this week from a dislocated shoulder rather than a reconstruction as was originaly thought.

Posted

only if his 100%!!!! If he tears his hammy for the 4th times il loose it.

Give him a month @ Casey to learn how not to hurt himself tackling.

It'll be great to see him playing again. I watched him play his first games @ Sandringham & realised in his first game he was what we needed.

Lets get him right.

Agreed, like him Watts and Morton back by the Queens Birthday match

No chance of Wonna coming back. Theres no way they would risk it!

Does anyone know how he has been going for Casey? Haven't kept upto date this year.

Normally players come off the injury list and THEN they play for Casey :)

Posted

Casey 2's for Wona if passed fit I would think. Due to the fact that it is unfair to play guys who can only be available for half a game in a senior side.

Take him slowly, slowly because its been since 2008 that he's played an AFL game.

That said I really hope that in 4 weeks time he's been able to get enough form and fitness to play up in Darwin.

What's happening with Sam Blease? Not on the injury list and not mentioned in the Casey report last week. Can anyone throw some light on this one?

He dislocated his shoulder, therefore he had a reconstruction to repair the damage. The reconstruction is not the injury, it's the operation. The dislocation WAS the injury Jurrah had.

Bell's fortunate he only dislocated his shoulder. He'd want to do something this season or I think it's curtains.

Bell did his AC joint.

Kelly O'Donnel I think this morning said that he would play this weekend that after a horrendous injury last year was right to play a couple of weeks ago and then was "ill". Did anyone else hear O'Donnell this morning because I thought he said that Tapscott was six weeks away. I think I am wrong given the operation but can anyone help here.

does this mean Tappscott, Gawn, Meesen, and effectively Jurrah are out for the season? Does anyone know whether any of the first 3s injuries are likely to be career ending which will lead to delisting? It sounds as though these injuries are pretty serious.

GAWN is midway through recovery from a knee reco. He will be back in good time.

Jurrah is 10 weeks away after a shoulder injury.

Tapscott had a hip injury and allegedly 6 weeks from training.

Why would we delist Tapscott and GAWN after one year?

Meesen on the rookie list and injured is finished. The foot injury only confirms his prospects when he went to the rookie list.

Don't write Meesen off he may turn out to be a valuable player for us. He is very mobile and was starting to show something before he was injured he would be more anvanced than either Spencer or Gawn and Jamar will need some assistance next year.

Thanks for that

The main AFL website still has last weeks list with Sylvia noted for a test !! http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/92714/default.aspx

There is a footnote " * Please note that Melbourne's list is from last week. It will be updated when available".

Not a good look - hopefully someone from the club will sort this out

they would not have drafted Gawn if they had a doubt his reco would be career ending.

If your career has not started, and you sustain an injury, can it be deemed career ending??

Why is it the Club's problem if AFL's webmaster is slow to update??

It's not a good luck for AFL.com, no reflection on MFC.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
