Scott Thompson rumour

OK I know this is out of Hutchies mouth but he reckons that Scott is seriously considering a move to the GC or possibly back to Victoria, maybe even Melbourne. A long bow sure but if it was to come to fruition would you want him and if so what would you give up for him?

Not just no but HELL NO! He deserted us once, I say let him stay gone and see how many finals he plays wherever he winds up. Sure, he's a good player, but we have a few guys playing his style of game who will be far far better. If he wants to go to GC and babysit a pack of spoiled teenagers that's fine, but don't let him come sniffing around us.

I was very hurt about losing him. I know he had good reasons, but he was one of my favourite players in 2004 and looked set to become a top line footballer at the Demons. Then he became a gun at Adelaide and it hurt even more. But why would he want to leave Adelaide after making such a big deal about needing to go home? Doesn't sound too accurate to me. Anyway, I'd have him back I guess. Still a very good player.

Didn't he go home because of a sick brother or something?

I'm tipping he has the Sh1ts with Craig's gameplan and can't see a flag in the next 5 years with their Dad's Army backline.

Tippett knocked back big coin from the Coast and hasn't kicked a goal since.

As far as i am concerned he would be a great asset to Melbourne and the timing would be perfect

Thompson would get into Geelongs 22 which is good enough reason to consider it

Yes, but not unconditionally! If it cost too much, forget it. He's of the age we need through the middle.

I haven't kept pace with what he's been doing & how his forms been. I've been totally focused on the draft & TAC games.

Not other AFL teams.

Has he kept developing his game? Anyone know?

I'm Tippetting that somethings not quite right in Crowsville? Could it be that their players art fighting one another?

I smell Blue Cod. No sign of smoke from here.

It cam from that bottom feeder Huchinson right???.....Enough said.

Well I did go out of my way to say that. I was more wondering what peoples thoughts were on what is more than likely a hypothetical question as I wouldn't believe Hutchy if he said the sun was coming up tomorrow.

How old is he now?

I was so [censored] off when he walked out on us, but damn they guy can play.

Wonder if if we could do a straight swap for Rivers?

Edit - just checked and he turned 27 last month, So will be 28 a couple of weeks before round 1 of next season.

Depending on the price , I would take him in a heartbeat.

He doesn't fit into our youth policy.

We only look at 12 year olds these days.

If you're old enough to drink then you're too old for us.

It was mentioned that his bad knee was effecting his play at the moment.

He only trains on Thursday, before a game.

This would put a negative vs his ability to be a asset to the Club

He's not too old. As long as his knee is right then he has 4 years of good footy left. If this group of kids is going to take us anywhere then it will be very close to doing it in the next 4 years.

But I'm not sure he will be worth the price to get him. That's what it all comes down to for mine, both the draft pick we have to give up and the $$$ we have to pay him.

Tippett has been injured and is still carrying an injury

Not the right fit for mine.

Agree.

Given the way our midfield is developing, what role do we envisage for Thompson and at what cost? Do we have others who will fulfill Thompson's role.

If he was available I am wondering whether he do a "Luke Ball" and choose the Club he wants. It may not be MFC.

He didn't "desert" us. He asked for a trade back to his home town, but said if we couldn't get a good trade then he'd be happy to stay. Can't remember what we got in return, but the MFC obviously liked it, so they made the trade. It's not like he had a sissy fit like CJ or Brock. He was class all the way in his request.

I'd be more than happy for him to come back.

Didn't we essentially get Brent Moloney for him? Beamer wasn't too bad a trade for Thompson.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
