Where would the Melbourne Football Club be without Brad Green.

The guy is a star!!

Gets knocked out in the first qtr, and is taken off the field in a neck brace

Comes back on the the third qtr, kicks 2 goals, is our only effective foward, and would be close to BOG for the Dees!

That's what leadership is all about!

Where is that leadership from the rest of our senior blokes???

Apologies to James Mac who gave 110% as per usual

couldn't agree more. Also after being knocked out, 3rd Q runs back into a contest! star

Bruce played in the backline, sometimes as our loose man and had no influence. Hawks loose man and defensive line cut us apart while our extra man did squat.

He was useless back there so why not play Bruce forward. Let our 2 most experience players play in an area where we are hurting. It's not like Bruce has exquisite skills rebounding.

Green, Bruce, Bate, Petterd, Jamar, resting mid. And for the love of god stop playing so close to each other. Stop running to the same spots and going for the same ball. Spread out a little bit and give yourself or team mate a chance.

When he did that, it convinced me he should be the next captain of our football club.

This from a bloke who has had multiple facial injuries in the past and was carried off on a stretcher the quarter prior.

Unbelievable courage.

I would like to point out also the assist he gave to (I think) Miller. Rubbish kick to his lead, the moment he realised he couldn't mark it he was looking around and assessing. He spotted Miller, took the ball turned and kicked blind right to him for an uncontested mark and goal. How many of our players could have done that?

AGREED. And this is for a guy who chose to stay with us instead of go to the Pies. He'd have every right to be bitter that he's given up the chance to play in a premiership contender but you'd never know it the way he goes 100% in everything he does.

Legend. Enough of this rubbish trying to attach the "next captain" tag to every new young player that comes through the system, this guy is it.

I have nothing good to say about the game today ( rather depressed and gutted) ...except Greeny you are our no.1 gutsy player. Come on guys dig deep. !!!!

100% agree. I'd argue he's our only A-grade player at present

No doubting he's the best player on our list at the moment. I said the same thing last year. I'm just hoping he's able to enjoy some better times before the curtains close on his career. He'd be a fantastic second fiddle midfielder in an elite midfield.

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    POSTGAME: Rd 09 vs Carlton

The Demons were blown out of the water in the first quarter and clawed their way back into the contest but it was a case of too little too late as they lost another close one to Carlton losing by 1 point at the MCG.
