What Trengove stated was absolutely true... he IS starting his AFL career, and he IS starting it with the MFC... how anyone can extrapolate from that, that he is considering moving on, is taking paranoia into previously unchartered territory.

Exactly. Hell, it could be a sign of modesty to suggest that he's not even arrogant enough to assume he'll even be given another contract - with any team.

Is Bryce Gibbs playing for Carlton or Adelaide?

What about Matthew Pavlich, Jonathan Brown, Daniel Kerr, and so on. Most players are professional enough to play for the Club they'te drafted to. Of the rest, enough money will get them to stay. Very few players would just go to the Club that drafted them and say, "you know what, screw you guys, I'm going home," without there being any way to get them to stay.

Just saw the senile old fool sheedy try talk up GWS say what you like about Bailey but thank the lord we didn't get sheedy

Hmmm.....an amazing presence on and off the field? multiple premiership coach?....Yes I could not stand that either.

While I am happy with Bails, he is yet to prove a thing apart from being able to endure the past two seasons and not have a twitch...the proof will come over the next 2 years.

Sheeds deserves way more respect than that and has a created a rivalry, whether concocted or not, with Sydney from nothing. We would love publicity like he brings.

Imagine him talking up the Dees, about the group we have been building...maybe poking fun at the Hawks...Have they missed their chance at multiple flags etc? ( I think not) but it would certainly have many column in the paper talking about us.

what's more important, a little more column space or not having a strange fossil who is well past it developing a bunch of your kids?

did anyone else notice Newman was trying to get something out of Sheedy, to do with a dislike of G.Lyon? It occurred to me that Lyon was on the panel for the job he unsuccessfully applied for. Bails all the way.

Sheeds has been so called passed it for 20 years and he has the flags to prove that he can and will be a force again. Not one to count out.

Why would nt you want him developing our kids considering what he did with a few versions of the Baby Bombers?

That's old news. Lyon and Sheedy have always been prickly with one another.

Sheeds was VERY dirty on the Dees for the perceived 'slight'. ANd as Gaz was on the panel it added fuel to the fire...

I wouldn't have minded sheedy coaching at all. He is still a very wise man, he would have bought in all the assistants he needed, But it just shows how good Bails presentation must have been, who in fact was coached by sheeds anyway!!

I'd say, definately he intended it that way. And Roos is playing along, very poorly, not a good actor is Paul Roos.

Yes, Bails all the way.

Sheeds isn't the fossil, but, newman, sheesh, he's got more preservative in him than 'Tutankhamun'.

He wouldn't need Viagra, but plenty of fillers & botox. http://www.docshop.c...efill-artecoll/

Once we gain some form and have developed a bit more as a side (not necessarily this season), one of the best things we could do is insult a club like collingwood or essendon.

Provoke a bit of hatred in opposition supporters and make us relevant again. Make them hate losing to us and desperate to be there to see their side beat us.

One of the most painful experiences as a dees supporter these days is realizing we hold little relevance to a lot of enemy supporters.

A carefully aimed public barb at Malthouse and the coaching setup with Buckley might do mountains of good.

Or I could be wrong.

Or I could be wrong.

Not in my books. I'm sick of other supporters telling me to hang in there coz we have a good list and we will look good in a couple of years. That is just condescending pity. I want them to hate my club, players and supporters so I can just smile and say "must suck to barrack for your mob".

Hated and feared should be the plan that way we know we are on the right track.

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
