---The Melbourne Football Club family has expanded by three members this week, with the birth of a trio of very special babies.

Aaron and Anna Davey welcomed a son, Marley, on Saturday, 23 January. He is their third child, joining sisters Atalia and Mikayla.

On the evening of Monday, 25 January, James and Annabelle McDonald welcomed their first child - a son, Harry James.

And the most recent arrival was another first - a daughter, Holly Elizabeth - born to Julia and Cameron Bruce on the morning of Wednesday, 27 January.

All offer their most sincere congratulations to the three families.---

I'm a little ashamed to admit that I was pumped to read about the two father/sons first. I don't think I'll be alone though. Congratulations to all three families though.

And about time Aaron and Anna did the right thing by us! ;)

This is great news but does anybody know of any father son players we will get in the next few years?

Viney and Stretch have been the names floating around for the last year.

Jack Viney is talked up a fair bit as a certain gun, but who can tell at that age?

I know he did play in the Prince Alfred College team that won the flag, which included his future teammates Trengove and Tapscott - Viney was apparently the first year 9 kid to play in the firsts in all its 138 years.

Not sure if that is right or if it even means anything, but he is one to watch closely.

Still 2 years away from draft-age, I believe.

We need Scully, Trengove and Watts to start fathering children, well just sons actually, ASAP!!

Hopefully the club are preaching to them the value of being in 'long term' and 'committed' relationships..for the clubs sake, if nothing else.. demon_wink.gif

And Jurrah!!

Congrats to the boys, be great to see a little Davey and j-mac running around for the boys sometime in the future..

Brucey, you let us down mate! Nah, only gaggin.. demon_tongue.gif ..good stuff all round!

This is kinda sad, but I was wondering why all three players had births so close together? therefore why were Bruce, Jnr and Davey where on the job about the same time?

Well I did a count back (via a reverse pregnancy counter) and got this results "Your estimated conception date was between April 20, 2009 and April 30, 2009."

What happened in that time?

Then I remebered this Round 4 Sun 19 Apr V Richmond MCG Win 100-92 A. Davey 25 touches Bruce 24 touches Game details

Is this just coincidence? Was our first win of the season unsettle something in the loins of our boys.

I hope so, Must be a good sign for the future.

And yes, I am a very sad sad man.

That's pretty damn hysterical.

Rocknroll, i tried to "vote your post up" but it wouldn't let me. That's brilliant!

Being leaders of the club I suppose they couldn't get on the turps, they have to enjoy wins in other ways...

All the players should do the right thing by the club and carefully select their partners. Having children to Liz Ellis, Sharelle McMahon, and Lauren Jackson shouldn't be too much to ask. The players can marry blonde bimbos as long as they father a son to an elite athlete as well.

Genetic selection should be encouraged by the club. I believe the club should seek out prospective "elite gene" partners and introduce them to the players at social functions. The club could provide "dates" for all players that don't have wives or girlfriends. Matchmaking is the way to go for a dynasty of MFC premierships.

And that's just plain scary

Next thing we will be putting all the players into stables getting them to service prospective genetic partners. Old footballers could be put out to stud.:o lol.

I wouldn't mind seeing The Ox put to stud with a woman with good knees. (Well, not really seeing, more having it happen)

My partner is 6 foot tall and ex American state high jump champion. She also ran track at collage, middle distance and heptathlon. I have always suggested that we should have a breading campaign with her and one of the boys. For some reason the conversation always come back to Brad Miller.........

What's wrong with Newton??

With all due respect to your partner, it would be comparable to mating with the racehorse stallion 'Superior Sateen'. Yeah sure he's Redoute's Choice's full brother, and a son of Danehill, but he completely sucked ass as a racehorse..

Casey Scorpions reserves doesn't need Miller to kick start their breeding program tbh. They have an endless supply of ex-Dandenong Stingrays players who miss out on being drafted to fill the void...

The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence. BLOODY BLUES by Meggs

The conclusion to Narrm’s home and away season was the inevitable let down by the bloody Blues  who meekly capitulated to the Bombers.   The 2024 season fixture handicapped the Demons chances from the get-go with Port Adelaide, Brisbane and Essendon advantaged with enough gimme games to ensure a tough road to the finals, especially after a slew of early season injuries to star players cost wins and percentage.     As we strode confidently through the gates of Prin
