Radio Commentary Movements

Being a Hunt fan is sign of poor judgement. The man is so disconnected from reality and the broader Australian public that it is frightening. There isn't enough sorbent extra soft in the world to wipe away the shyte that spews from his mouth.

Was kind of looking forward to the choice of all stations. Oh well....

Just confirmed on 3AW that Rex has gone to MMM. I guess that means BT is taking his spot on 3AW.

I've always listened to 3AW because I like Rex and Dennis Commetti.

But I can't stand BT. I think I'll switch to MMM now.

I will never listen to anything Mr Hunt is on, he is the worst commentator going around. All I want to hear is the footy, the game, a detailed description of the play itself, who is playing well, who is out coaching the other coach etc none of the other rubbish this fella gets up to.

ABC has a no-nonsense approach. They give a detailed description. They don't have as many ads in my opinion.

Local calls are good. Interstate calls of games are poor particularly in SA and WA. Use SEN as a back up.

Cant stand Rex and MMM's coverage is a boofhead's delight (even more so next year)

If I'm unfortunate enough to have to listen to the radio (i.e. in the car), in Tassie one of the local stations broadcasts the MMM feed. If we're really, really lucky we'll also get an ABC feed as well, but usually it's MMM or nothing.

Needless to say, I'm devastated Hunt is moving.

Latest is 3AW is trying to lure Tim Lane. If that occurs, I might actually listen to 3 Awful Wireless.

Ironic how 3AW allowed that self serving perpetual court attendee to ridcule Tim Lane as boring (re Tobin Brothers) years ago.

I think "movement" is a great word to associate with Hunt's commentary.

I wont visualise it though

Disaterous news. Hate Rex, hate 3AW, am driven to murder by the glacial pace of the ABC call and am generally unconvinced by SEN (though Tim Gossage should be thrown into the sea).

AW it is by default, but Taylor won't be anywhere near as amusing as on Triple M. Maybe Rex will do the Mitch Thorp "last chance" thing and reign it in a bit. If he adapts his style and is a success he could prolong his career - otherwise he's gorn.

The most distressing news is that Hamish McLachlan is being groomed as the chief caller. God help us all.

SEN is ok, can't stand that Tim Gosage over in WA.

edit: LOL, Supermercado and I think alike re: Gosage, posting the same thoughts..

Ha Ha ! All the people who hate Rex and were previously listening to Most Moronic Murmurings , tough ti77ies. At least Rex tried to liven up, often absolutely boring, contests. Brian Taylor is OK but his fellow commentators are a boorish menagerie.

Betcha MMM ratings increase!

i love the bristle man. him Garry, James, Spud and the Chief make me laugh so much when they're in the same box. I can see why people find them annoying though as often there is a lot of mucking around and not a lot of game coverage. I'm interested to see how rex slots in, but i won't stop listening to triple m. 3aw and sen are my quick flick stations to get updates at the breaks, but i only listen in the car, and the rest of the time i'm at a dees game or watching it on tv.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi
