I reckon your asking for the impossible there

If Ball is draft tampering - then Eddie and his mates from Broady and Xavier are in it up to their armpits

What are your Carey boys going to do to Eddie then?

Luke Ball doesn't want to play for the Ds, no one else wants Mitch Thorp because he is naughty and the Ds don't want him anyway. Melbourne will redraft Meeson and Newton, McDonald is the pick in the PSD -other than that I'm sure you can fill up the spots with whoever you want subject to availablity given you power within the club.

Why should Ball be any different to any other player with or without AFL experience if he enters the ND?

B/C there are different rules for players with AFL experience set by the AFL.

There was a post a few pages back that I just saw now that made me chuckle.

This Collingwood fan came on here and tried to have a go at us for our GF record. Lol - I assume he is not aware that we have beaten them in 6 out of 7 Grand Finals.

Or that their GF record since 1936 looks like this:

WINS: 3 - 1953, 1958 and 1990 (Yes that's right, 3)

LOSSES: 16. Yes, that's right, 16. 16. 3 wins and 16 losses. By God, I think I hate Carlton more than the Pies because Collingwood makes me laugh so often.

Further points of humour include: Melbourne smacking the Pies by over 70 points in a GF and Collingwood kicking two (2) goals in a GF against us for a total of 4 scoring shots against our 22.

yes 1960 was a great afternoons work. It was on youtube. 8-12 to 2-2-14 i think was the score

since 1936 16 losses in GF's!! Beautiful symetry.

Thanks 45.

Why do people use certain dates to judge the amount of flags you've won?

Since 1902, Collingwood have won 14 flags, Melbourne 10. Wow!

Since the AFL was created, Melbourne are yet to win a flag

I like this one; speaks volumes....

Grand Finals: Melbourne v Collingwood.

Melbourne lead 6-1.

Collingwood also give me much joy with the old "who kicked 5 goals in the 1990 grand final?"

Of course you play with statistics, that's what they're there for.

Don't forget 16-4 in finals HT - and that's since 1897. Oh, 12 minus 1 is 11, not 10. Difficult arithmetic I know.

I hope that helps you sleep at night. All I know is I've physically seen my club win a flag in the flesh, you haven't.

I hope those stats can fill the void of the fact that you have never seen your club win a flag.

Your problem is that like us you follow the football closely. Because of this you know how good we're about to become and how ordinary and desperate your club is already looking. Oh, I'm sure someone has already thanked you, but thanks again for Liam Jurrah. He'll be the icing on the cake when the oldest football club in the world zips past you. The look in Eddie's and Buck's eyes when the lynch mob arrives will be priceless.:lol:

I've actually seen my club win two 1960 and 1964.

Bucks may have had a chance to coach a side to a flag if he had thrown his hat in to the ring when our job came up. Instead he decided to wait until the Collingwood position became vacant.

I hope he has much success as he did as a player when he left Brisbane to play in a flag winning side at Collingwood. Ooops!

Interesting Thought as to where the Filth will Finish next year, considering the Budget they throw around.

This years Prelim result will Hurt them...6-8 I am Tipping.

Demons should Aim for 8th spot.

Out of every quote, and stat, I've laid against your club - you've chosen this one to have a go at me over, the only one that is actually in favour of your club!!!

:lol::lol::lol: Please, please stick around.

I can not believe the crap that is said on this site. Get the hell over it you wankers. Collingwood are an honest team that is well coached. I would love to see the melbourne football department get as much out of our boys as they do. I cant stand the crap that old x has to say but smarten up people. The pies are good.

You're right. They're good but not great enough to win a flag any time soon. On the other hand, we've been mediocre but are building a side from the ground up that will one day be great.

I'd like to know whether TOX is keen for his team to pick up Ball. The Pies need to improve in some aspects, but I thought their midfield was pretty good. Surely Ball would be only a marginal improvement at best, and he may even deprive them of pace & delivery-quality. Who would he push out - Pendlebury? Thomas? It might be interesting if Ball does get through to 30.

I'm over the whole Ball situation. Hine will take Josh Thomas at #30 if Ball is gone, like Beams last year, who finished 3rd in the RS overall after getting drafted at #29. He has been on our radar for some time & fits in with the club's strategy of targeting kids from the GC in a period of comprimized picks.

If we do get Ball, our midfield with the addition of Jolly will own.

Again, don't change tack from knowing that you haven't seen your club win a flag. I'm sure watching a news reel of your club's last flag doesn't play on your mind.

I personally love how Collingwood invokes a feeling amongst rival clubs in that they hate us more than they love their own club! Your sig is living proof!

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
