<--------- "I don't care what number I get drafted...... Just get me in that Red 'n Blue!"

Jack has spoken! :P

I don't think he said that at all.

I think you're a liar.

And, for the last time, I don't care how much you like Justin Timberlake, it is just not feasible to pick him up at Number 2 in the draft.

18 maybe.

34 of course. Kids got moves...

Here's a thought. If McMahon had kicked a point, who would you be hoping the club takes with pick 1? More to the point, if you were BP, who would you take?

There's your answer. Beyond that, who cares?

Although i doubt DB would state to the press who he was going to take pre draft day, I wouldnt be surprised at all if he indicates that there is nothing between them and it wont matter what order they are given.

Following the draft perhaps the MFC gets them to do the majority of press conferences together to take heat off either one.

They are both ready made champions, thank god there is no pressure on us to get the choice right..... regardless of whether any of the other top 10 drafted players come on, even the MFC cant fark up our first 2.

Barry should sit at the table and flip a coin in a very obvious way to the media.

Go dees.

my picks for 1 and 2 are

1. scully

2. trengove

I reckon all this hype about who will go no.1 in the draft is just a puff of smoke, so the draft can maintain its "live" tag without the general public knowing who will be the no.1 pick.

It's funny because the South Australians who have seen a fair bit of Trengove, but obviously very little of Scully, are adamant that Jack is the best player in the draft. Alternatively, the Victorians who have seen a fair bit of Scully, but obviously very little of Trengove, are adamant that Tom is the best in the draft.

There are also those who haven't seen much of either of them who are simply repeating what other people are saying about players and boldly proclaiming that player A is better that player B.

I fall very much into the category of the Victorians. I haven't seen much of Trengove, but if he's better than Scully then he'd be an effing unbelievably good player. Scully is an awesome player and would be in the top couple of names in any draft. In a poor Metro team he was still getting the ball 25 times a game in shortened matches (probably 75% of normal time). But he uses the ball well too, especially by hand, and runs opponents absolutely into the ground. Scully is a dynamic, clearance winning, line breaking inside midfielder with unbelievable endurance. I'm not sure how many of those there are in the AFL - I'm trying to think of one but am struggling to think of one with his endurance.

Trengove would have to mount a hell of a case to be better than Scully. It sounds like he's mounting a good case, but I find it hard to imagine that it's better than what Scully has presented over the past few years. I guess we'll find out on draft day.

Pure bliss.

If Trengove is indeed truly challenging Scully for No 1 draft pick then MFC have been truly blessed (Thank you Jordan!).

Any reasons why the much touted Morabito has fallen of the pace? It would be good to hear from the very few who actually do watch draft prospects as opposed to those that dont and shoot the breeze or parrot someone else's ignorance.

I think it's only perceived that Morabito has fallen off the pace. He's still there. Since Sturt have played finals and Trengove has impressed judges such as Cornes etc in SA media. More exposure and more power to Trengove - maybe people don't have to be convinced anymore on Trengove (especially those that don't follow the lead up of draft prospects)..

As silly as it sounds I think it's actually quite significant whose name gets read out first.

Im pretty sure someone else said it here, but riewoldt at pick 1 has certainly had more expectation on him than kositzche at pick 2.

Will be interesting. As scully has been touted as a number 1 pick for quite some time now, i think it would be more detrimental to him to be picked at 2 than trengove.

Can't we just say that we have been kissed on the dick and leave it at that?

By none other than Jordan.

Big pat on the back to those behind naming this board the "The Jordan McMahon Drafting and Trading Board"

Superb.

Am I right in the thinking of Scully/Trengove will be our Ablett/Bartel?

Im not sure on the ablett comparison, but the reports i've heard on Trengove - strong, hard at it, great overhead mark, good skills, has given me an impression we are getting a Jimmy Bartel!

Either way, both these boys will be Red and Blue heroes for years to come!!!

Here's a thought. If McMahon has kicked a point we'd have pick 2.

To Freo? Ah. Yeah... Well ok then let's say McMahon kicked the point and Freo won 6 games instead of five. THEN ask yourself, with a single pick one, who do you pick?

Whoever it is goes at pick 1, and the other at pick 2.

And it still doesn't matter! :D

Any reasons why the much touted Morabito has fallen of the pace?

It's more about what Trengove and Scully HAVE done, moreso than what Mora hasn't done. I think it probably applies to Scully too. Were he not injured, we may have seen a dominant final appearance for the year, which may have been enough for him to surpass Trengove comfortably.

As people have stated throughout the thread it doesn't really matter who goes at number one but for me I think it will be Scully. He has the elite endurance and ball winning capability similar to a Benny Cousins or a Chris Judd. High praise I know but from the statistics/endurance testing (even from last year), Tom will be out running his opponents from the first game he plays next year. Elite hard running is something as a team we have been severely lacking for years and it's exciting to think that it will be delivered with the number one pick! From what I've read Trengove isn't too schabby either when it comes to endurance running it's just I can see Scully as a player that will consistently win 25-30+ possessions every game simply through hard running and constantly creating options for his team mates.

..I'll give it a shot anyway ;)

Mora did his quad about 4-5 weeks b4 the draft camp..

did everything possible to get right for it, but just didnt quite get up.

Trennys definately pushed up to top 2, after taking his chance to stand out and running with it.. (literally)

There are a few highlights that someone's put on youtube of the sturt vs glenelg prelim from a few weeks ago, the game trengove did well in. not sure if someone has already provided these links, but its worth having a look:

obviously it's not all footage of trengove, but there are definately a few moments of brilliance there

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak
