  1. I'm shattered that I'm going to miss it! I have footy out in Donvale at the same time the dees will be running out! I'll have to listen to Dwayne Russel when i get home i s'pose arghh
  2. Hi all, I'm a bit worried about the possibility of Ricky going to the Gold Coast. He has put off contract talks with the club, and comments between he and Jeff White on twitter recently did nothing to ease my concern. The general gist of the exchange between Jeff and Ricky on twitter was: Ricky - Absolutely cooked! early morning in gods country tomoro! Jeff - @Rickypetterd15 Gold Coast? Ricky - @JeffWhite34..yeh great place..hahah Now feel free to lay into me if I'm reading too much into something so innocuous on twitter! But is anybody else worried about the delayed contract talks and the fact that Ricky is originally from Queensland? Hopefully the club can sort it out soon and we can keep one of our future stars! Also, please don't judge the numbers at the end of my username - I would much rather Brad Miller go back to Qld than Petterd hahaha
  3. There are a few highlights that someone's put on youtube of the sturt vs glenelg prelim from a few weeks ago, the game trengove did well in. not sure if someone has already provided these links, but its worth having a look: obviously it's not all footage of trengove, but there are definately a few moments of brilliance there
  4. butcher definately won't be there at 11. either sydney or port would take him before us, most likely port because they can get a mid with one pick and butcher with another.
  5. If both us and West Coast get a priority pick then whose pick is first?
  6. What do you think of her as a commentator? I wonder if this will be on a regular basis now.
  7. great article. thanks for the updates on Jurrah. It looks like it could go either way with him; a good long term prospect or a venture that doesnt quiet fit. Whatever happens, how many preseason draft picks can you really get this excited about..
  8. i think we might surprise a few teams this year, and i don't think we will be demoralised too often, or at least not as often as last year. i expect dean bailey will ensure we remain "competitive" for longer. ultimately there are more sides this year that i would hope we beat - essendon, fremantle, brisbane, west coast, sydney, north melbourne should be the teams we have a crack at beating when we play them
  9. did buckley play? was morton's disposal any good when he got the ball?
  10. through the late nineties, early 00's - Simon Godfrey just loved him, no particular reason) right now - Simon Buckley; love his playing style
  11. We need to win. what would coming last do for the image of the club?? wold there be any chance of being near the record membership again if we get the wooden spoon? Either way, getting any of Naitanui, Rich or Watts would be awesome; they are all quality players. p.s. what ever happened to the team being more important than one person??? people are acting as though Naitanui is bigger than our whole club.
  12. another thing that may impact on mclean is his leadership credentials, i.e. the capataincy. He is a great leader, but if he misses the season he could be overlooked in favor of someone who has played the whole year, e.g. bruce or jones... or even the dreaded miller (see yesterdays herald sun convo between mark robinson and the other guy).
  13. By the way, i think that so far daniher would have been better this year, because both of them are mediocre coaches, but daniher knew how to market the club.
  14. Buckley needs to come back to the one's. CJ has been tried and found wanting at the next level for too long, and unless further injuries, he should be sent packing (althought with jace bode's lamentable performance on monday, he might find a niche in the side). I can't beleive that Isaac Weetra got two games with us at the start of the season. At the moment, he is no where nere AFL level. maybe next year... As for Jamar and Meesen. Jamar should be delisted, but meesen is worth persisting with by all reports, but should be used sparingly as a back up to Paul Johnson.
