I think he'll be the one.

He's already averaging 2 goals a game, effortlessly, in a team where the delivery is hopeless if not rare. That's without a preseason, and being thrown into a whole new world.

I can't see him having a lean patch, maybe a bad game here and there, but I don't see how he can be beaten on the lead, in the air and on the deck, he's a nightmare.

I think he'll be targeted with the rough stuff as he starts to make more of an impact, but he has a bit of mongrel in him and I reckon he'll thrive on it.

I think he'll be a superstar, Jackovich and Davey mixed together.

That's if he gets a fair run from the injury gods. Touch wood.

[censored].... ha!

Sorry, had to be done.

But in all seriousness, I believe Jurrah could be anything. The only worry that I have is about whether or not he can cope with the pressures that come with being an AFL player.

You can tell by the smile on his face that he loves playing in the AFL.

There is only one thing standing between him and super-stardom and that's Melbourne being [censored]. Imagine what he's going to be like when we consistently get more than 5 inside 50's a game!

At the rate that he's playing, even if he never ever improves, he'll be a very good player.

Him and Watts up forward is going to be magic. Add Aussie and it's party time :D

He is a freak of nature. Why do pre-seasons when you have the talent like LJ? I hope DB doesn't work him too hard over the pre season, I just want to see him play his natural game, without the regimes and the structures of modern football. I want to see him bring his natural Yuenmendu game to the MCG.

The Jurrahcane has only reached a Category 2....prepare to batten down the hatches....

I don't know about you lot, but I'm so worried he will disappoint that I don't want to jinx him.

At this stage I'll say that of the players we've seen debut in the last 10-15 years, only Farmer and Davey got the fans to fever pitch like this. (Jacko debuted earlier, I think)

Liam's skills are simply stunning, and unlike so many kids who look a million bucks in the youtube videos, his skills seem to work even better in the big league than they do in the lesser ones... Given the framework he's working within, there are cearly less things likely to hold him back than the usual mortal. However, he's still not even 21 yet. A LOT of things still have to happen. He has to play 22 rounds, finals, he has to cope with the best or second-best defender, he has to cope with a tag and with a bit of tall-poppy syndrome... I noticed last week he was getting VERY vocal.

I don't mean to sound pessimistic. I have a lot of confidence in him. But I'm just keeping a lid on it for now.

I have been replaced!!!!!

Jaded!

How could you??????

I'm depressed :(

I'm sorry, but I think we've jinxed our man so I'm trying to keep a lid on it.

Besides, many football orgasms have been had over Brocky, so no need to feel depressed.

"Brocky from the centre to Juuuuurrrraaaahh":wub:

I think we've just found our 2010 marketing slogan.

Certainly more subtle than They Know We're Cumming.......I mean Coming.

"The Melbourne Football Club, sexually frustrated since 1964.

Jump on board for some satisfaction in 2010 and beyond"

Genius. I want that sticker on my car!

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
