Grimes and Jamar

if there is any problem and I mean ANY problem with Grimes, do not play him, he is the most important player we have.

He has future captain written all over him and I don't want him being another ang christou, garry lyon (lingering back problems) because they play him for the rest of the year.

i just hope it is precautionary with Grimes like you are all assuming. Id like some word from the club on how serious it is. All good and well him not playing to assist us with the picks but not if his back is serious again.

The biggest shame out of this is that Paul Johnson is going to get another game for Melbourne on the back of pretty uninspiring performances at Casey, simply because Jamar is injured.

Grimes being listed as having a back problem is worrying too. Hopefully we just rest him for a week or two and it's nothing serious. But I really was hoping he'd keep playing this year to build up fitness and confidence at AFL level.

Totally agree with this...Grimes has been a revelation in a backline that has.. well..had issues for a while. There is no point in playing anyone with back related soreness let alone a history of it..he is too important even for Supercoaches!! (I have Cheney on my bench too)

Hang in there, Titan..

This does make the list management process a lot easier -- it's probably a blessing really. In terms of influence on the side, those two would be in the top couple in recent weeks.

Now PJ and someone like Valenti can pop back in to the side. All we need to do is drop Robbo for Miller or Newton and our list management is done for the week.

I am afraid my subtlety interpreter is (permanently) broken and I have no idea what you mean :(

he's telling you to get in the box and coach us. Brilliant tanking tactic as far as I'm concerned- supporters coaching for a day!

For the next 3 weeks we should play both PJ and Spencer. This leaves us one running player short (as Grimes is injured). Jurrah should be played on a wing for his development with Bartram taking the kick-ins Bruce, Green and Davey should be rotated off the bench with none of them having more than 60% playing time. Overall keep the rotations down so the players a totally knackered before they come off. I also think Robbo should be taught a lesson and be played in defence to help improve that side of his game.

I was referring to your list management strategy Nasher. Because I agreed with it, I thought well, you may as well coach.

Thanks Jaded for the interpretation. You can be his assistant. :)

Ha, me and him working together in the coaches box might just be the perfect solution to our dilemma. I guarantee that the only winning moves you'll see on matchday will involve me going to the bar.

Or you at the bar?

Sounds like Travis' career approach.

We might just see Newton in for Robbo this week, Nasher.

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
