After todays game I think that unless some serious list management is employed we are capable of winning another 3 games let alone 2.

Freo vs Brisbane tonight.

The game is in Perth, so lets hope Freo can produce an upset.

The 2 W.A. sides will not win another game this year apart from the derby. It's a disgrace The Coke Eagles won a flag 3 years ago!!

Freo is a dead set certainity. Swans, North and Tigers are all 50-50 IMO.

Three games at 50% chance to me says we will win at least one.

Goodes will tear us up next week i think so we won't beat the swans. North have been close a number of weeks just havent got over the line. The tigers i think will be keen to beat us after last time. And hopefully the media really get stuck into freo before our game so they come put pumped!!!

Hopefully we beat the saints for there first loss of the year!!!

FRE 4.4 (28) vs BRI 5.5 (35) 3rd qtr

3Q Time Freo 6.5.41 BL 7.7.49.

Maybe they're not tanking????

Said it before and I'll say it again - the Pies fall apart completely under pressure. 2nd qtr against us, last qtr against Dogs, 3rd qtr against Hawks. The most overrated team in the comp. To go out in straight sets in the finals.

beating port is the game that cost us the priority pick. I hope every remembers the game because it royally screwed up our grand plans of a complete development. Now it looks like we could end up with pick 3 or 4 as our only pick.

I hate to say it, but I think you're right!

No Sandi, Pav, Hill, Palmer.

No chance.

Add Headland. How many will be back for our game with them?

Freak, Freak, Freak.

Let me hazard a guess and say that you're 'posting rate' diminished over the past two weeks?

Hopefully, the mods can check on that...

And it was PA and their 'leaders' that screwed up. They should have beaten us and they didn't. They were awful.

But you are probably right though...

That Richmond game isn't going to be fun one for me to go to...

Tigers blow a 40 point lead and have a draw with the Kangas.

What does this mean for PP? is 18 Premiership points too much? Or is it 20 Premiership points that is too much?

EDIT:

Conflicting reports: On the AFL website it seems to say that fewer than 5 wins is required.

http://www.afl.com.au/about/tabid/13514/default.aspx

An article I found said this though:

"Five teams are qualified for the priority pick awarded to those that win no more than four games -- more precisely, 16 premiership points."

found here: http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/sport/afl...2-19742,00.html

I can't seem to find any hard and fsat rule to go by.

Like the paper says no more than four games or 16 points.

That's not such a bad result for Melbourne

Best possible result then.

Great!

I thought so too.

But I am thinking a little differently now.

If Richmond won then it might put their young guys on a role with some belief for the MFC games.

I believe after beating us in Rd 1 or 2 this year, NM feel they have the wood on us and would believe they could win anyway.

At 18 points, NM have lost the 2nd PP and Crocker would love a win to press for the coaching FT. He is probably realistic to realise that he is a long shot.

At 14 points, Richmond might be reluctant at this point to push for another win.

Interesting times

The only chance Freo is of another win is against PA at Subi, and Port will have to rock up as mentally unprepared as they did against us.

Whatever happens, we won't get another spoon. So the season's a success?

NM will finish on 5 and a half wins, WCE on 6/7 wins, Rich on 4 and a half wins, Melbourne on 4 wins, and Freo on 3/4 wins with an awful percentage.

That takes into account the Tigers beating us, but they way they played that second half - jeez...

Rpfc fremantle have another chance of a win. Its actually against Melbourne. Whilst not alot would agree, theyre definitely a chance anyway.

I am not so sure WCE will win another game this year! Freo have the wood on them of late I think and I have no doubt the eagles will gladly accept another loss to their arch rivals if it takes them 1 step closer to a PP at year`s end!

MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
