Has anyone read the reports on Demonology about a team meeting early in the week where apparently some of the younger team members brought up a few issues with the team leaders. Does anyone have any information on this.

I suppose this is insignificant given what is happening with Jim at the moment.

Have a look at who our stand in captain is while Junior is out.

Thats all I am going to say on this issue.

The fact that they all call Jack Watts "the saviour" is a perfect example of what is going wrong at this club. He is not the saviour, it is the playing group as a whole that should be resurecting our form.

This isn't too surprising. Our best players and best leaders (Green aside) are all sub 24.

If this is true, it is very disturbing. I've supported the Dees for 30 years, and I can't think of a worse period in that time. I sincerely hope we cannot sink any lower than we are ATM. I feel we are completely rudderless! Sorry, don't mean to be a drama queen, but obviously something has to change in the leadership group.

One thing those highlighted do do is hit hard at the ball and man.

Good! DB said on MFC website that there isn't enough support for players doing things right. Get stuck into them youngins it's time to take the reins and show the "OLD" fella's how to do it!

Our list is at a difficult period, we have older players playing for their AFL future and younger players trying to establish themself at AFL Level. That leads to tension, we have a lot of players playing for survival. To ease this drop the players that have no future, the club knows what senior players will be around next year the ones that won't play them at Casey.

We need to create a team that wants to play with each other, that wants to push each other to improve, we need all players wanted to take this club forward, not players that just want to get another year or two out of the club.

I would be more concerned if there weren't team meetings with theses things being raised. We need a line in the sand moment. A point in time where the club stops tolerating loss and wins at all reasonable cost.

Agree.

I think it is good that the recent form and losses is hurting everyone and its not acceptable. Their appears to be a call to arms on this and that is good.

I think what Bailey was referring to was when Bennell had taken on two Brisbane players on their forward wing and was able to get the ball and them over the boundary. Not one Melbourne player came up to support him or after congratulate him. They younger boys need to know that what they are doing is being appreciated and backed up by the other players not just older players. The inability or unwillingness to block or shepherd and the inability or unwillingness to run on after disposing to make the second and third efforts are glareing problems that Bailey has to fix. That the young players may have bought this to a head is good and shows good leadership amongst the younger boys. The other good thing is that it hasn't come out in the press and they have been able to keep it in-house (apart from us and demonology). Look what happened at Richmond. We cant implode.

dandeeman is right.

Team meetings and players being constructive during meetings and communicating with each other is much, much better than putting the tail between the legs and going about footy week to week status quo.

The senior players if anything would like the feedback and would be encouraging them to speak up and be heard amongst the playing group.

Totally agree longsuffering. Recognition after a good deed encourages others to do the same.

Mistakes made that are not in some way punished by the team or coaches give permission for the whole group to make mistakes. Thata what the bench, a spray, Reserves team and icy early morning swims are for.

You get my drift.

All in all, it's not surprising and has been stated, I'd be bloody concerned if we weren't having meetings.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
