EDIT:

Stynes will remain President but delegate duties to other Board members temporarily, with Don McLardy taking over as interim President. Three weeks ago he had a lump in his back removed which turned out to be cancerous and it has spread to other parts of the body. He will undergo surgery tomorrow (Source: MFC.)

According to a Nine news report, just moments ago, the great man Jimmy will be stepping down from the presidency of the MFC. Horrible, horrible news, if true. Get well soon, Jimmy!

I don't have a link but this was just shown on a channel 9 news update.

The reason is illness. If this is true, I am sure more of this will be coming shortly. Sorry to not have a source or a link, but if this is true, this is very sad news.

you were my favrioute player as a young lad a player who i loved growning up, and this short stint as president has made me love you even more.... GET BETTER SOON JIM... :(

WOW. Absolutely terrible, terrible news for this footy club.

Jim Stynes has done such a great amount of work in such a short time, let's hope his illness isn't too bad!

Typical channel nine...trying to break a story...giving us absolutely no imformation whatsoever and saying "more on the today show tomorrow"...it is disgusting.

You would imagine that one of the two vice presidents would temporarily or permanantly fill his shoes...

listening to SEN atm and there is nothing of it so far but they are playing the news now

    Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force for training at Gosch's Paddock on Wednesday morning for the MFC's School Holidays Open Training Session. DEMONLAND'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS REHAB: TMac, Chandler, McVee, Tholstrup, Brown, Spargo Brown might have passed his fitness test as he’s back out with the main group.  Sparrow not present.     Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on.     There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training.     A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session.
