  1. He injured his ankle earlier on in the year, i believe he missed one game, and re-injured it and is worse than was first thought. Will not play again this year but should not be an ongoing problem.
  2. Irrelevant to the result but that holding the ball decision again nicholson? that led to Franklins 70m goal was disgusting.
  3. Demolished in the clearances. Standard against the hawks
  4. Nicholson has been very ordinary today. Fumbled nearly all his touches and has been really poor with his disposal. Not alone but has stood out today
  5. Went along for the first 6/8. No Sylvia, Trengove, Tapscott or McKenzie among others. Davey played I would think less than half of the game and didn't do much. Clark and Watts worked well together I thought, they would both be around the contest and often Jack would either body Clark's opponent (generally Frawely) out of the contest or held his own man away front he contest and allow Clark to go up for a clean jump or have a 1 on 1. He is a seriously good mark of the football. Watts is super quick and makes great decisions with the football. His spot up to Troy Davis? I think in the forward line under pressure on the left was one of the standouts of the day. Jamar was destroying Fitzy in the ruck, just too big and strong for him. Garland did some good marks and defence and Grimes likewise. Thought Martin was very good up forward, competed in the air and was good on the ground and snagged a few goals. Looks promising if we can fit him, Watts and Clark and Jurrah rotating through as well. Jones was killing the clearances, Howe was playing well and Blease got a heap of the ball and used his speed to find space. Will be important this year. Will give a bigger report later.
  6. Warnock simply not up to it. Always behind and makes terrible decisions when he does have it. Pathetic today and hasnt been great all year.
  7. Yes he was Jack's direct opponent for the day. However he never able to go head to head with Keath at any time during the match except for a few occasions late in the game where Jack managaged to snare 3 goals in the last quarter and get Brighton back from 6 goal deficit. Keath played well, but Jack was 1 on 3 and was bombed on his head all day, ala Nick Reiwoldt in the grand final this year. This is not a worrrying sign at all.
  8. EDIT: Stynes will remain President but delegate duties to other Board members temporarily, with Don McLardy taking over as interim President. Three weeks ago he had a lump in his back removed which turned out to be cancerous and it has spread to other parts of the body. He will undergo surgery tomorrow (Source: MFC.) - - - - - - Due to illness. Just announced on channel 9. Get well Jim. You have done so much for this club
  9. Keep him in. Looked better tonight. I want to see how he goes against lesser opposition to get his confidence up. Keep him in this week and for the west coast game.
  10. I like Morton but he is starting to annoy me how he refuses to tackle, win a hard ball get or pressure opponents. Bartram - Has to go. Offers not much to be honest Bate - Tried hard. Kicked well. Still fumbles a bit but is a positive Bennell - Was OK Bruce - Best game for a while. Cheney - Courageous marks going back into pack Davey - Disposal is incredible Frawley - Smashed Lloyd. Green - Gutsy efforts all night. Is a gun Grimes - Is going to be a gem. Great 1 on 1 player. Has to be midfield Jetta - Maric has to be in ahead of him Johnson - Frustrating. Can be good but makes so many errors. Not the worst at all though Jurrah - Wow. Him and Watts together makes me happy. Martin - Looks promising forward. McLean - Good clearances. Always tries Miller - Showed some good signs i guess Moloney - Love him. Loves this club Morton - Not any good tonight/lately. Pulled out of another contest tonight. Looked ugly Rivers - Didnt really notice him Robertson - Has to go. Play Newton instead Sylvia - Such an improver this year Watts - Im excited. Classy player. Deadly kick. Presents well. Bloody use him. He leads to the centre and we constantly kick it wide to Robertson or Bate 2 on 1. Frustrating. Whelan - Sad to say he looks well of the pace.

  12. Bate - a major underachiever Bell - courageous but lacks skills and decision making Bruce - hit a target/take a mark Cheney - kept at task Davey - demands are overwhelming Frawley - tough and focused Green - a quiet game Grimes - will be a gun Johnson - never seen somebody miss so many targers Jones - refused to look inboard. So frustrating Maric - game to forget McDonald - May sound harsh but has to go. Fumbled all day and cant kick anymore. McLean - Slow and quiet Moloney - was barely sighted Morton - had no presence Rivers - kept at task Robertson - well past prime Sylvia - oustanding allround game Warnock - just a game Watts - showed some poise, got open but people (Jones and McDonald in particular) refuses to lower eyes and hit targets. Would be very frustrated tonight Whelan - brave but loose
  13. He can seriously play. So strong overhead for somebody his size. But what struck me most was his pace and chasing, I thought he was a bit of a plodder but he can run. Great game Col
  14. I have also heard it on very good authority that he will be playing on Queens Birthday. I have grown up playing with Jack and cannot wait to see him out there in the red and blue. Get excited. Big weekend for us in so many ways
